I don't know if anybody else noticed, but one of the first things I saw in the screenshots was THERE ARE NO TRIANGLE SPARKS!!!!
Just thought I'd tell everyone :p
yes, i noticed that. they were the only thing that bugged me about obi1
xbox can have the triangles....... we have REAL effects :)
Are you telling me that Obi Wan still has those crappy traingle sparks in it?
Obi Wan is gonna suck....the game developers have lost interest in it now because they couldnt get it to do what they wanted it to do!
The stupid thing is that on the x-box it would take no time at all to do proper little circles... Those triangles are just laziness.
Mmmm, triangles, triangles, everywhere... :D
Wait a sec....whats wrong with triangles....a couple of years ago they were highly techincal!
Didn't anyone tell you? Triangles are out of fashion! Bring on the trendy Hexagons! :D
pfffffffft, hexagons? come off it!
its hip to be SQUARE man! right on!
AND LOOK AT THAT CRAPPY LIGHTSABER!!
It sucks! Kyle's is perfect, though, at least when he's not swinging it around!
Yeah, are those triangles in the pic just one pixel! lol :D
Oh, there's some serious graphic rape being done by Raven. JK2 looks so much better, typical Crap-Box. :p

I here by declare to one and all...men and women...people of every nation, tongue, and clan that from this day forth...the new Microsoft gaming machine...will be known as Crap-Box
Well, a triangle is certainly going to render faster than a quad, which is basically two triangles. Additionally, they don't look textured, which probably makes them even cheaper to render. If you had thousands of them on-screen at once and they're all moving in cool ways, I don't imagine you'd notice and you could probably do at least twice as many particles this way. With particle type effects, volume and quantity matter.
The problem is that we're only seeing screenshots. If those things were in motion ( and moving very quickly ) and output to a blurry ol' tv, it would be far less likely that you'd even notice that it was a triangle.
So, as I said, it's just that it's a still shot and output to a nice crisp format for us to display on our hi-res monitors. Until we can see them in motion, I wouldn't worry too much.
Signed,
Weirdo
i like circles they are facinating
Circles RULE. Actually they are quite interesting! :)
