Did you ever notice that in Star Wars and Star Trek there is no one that wears glasses(with exception to Geodi LaForge). That laser surgery must have really came along.

did you also notice that in star wars
han solo says "what the hell"
implying a religion similar to our's which would contradict the force....

I believe he actually says,

"Then I'll see you in hell,"

I noticed that also, a prime example of an anachronism...sort of.

Uutont Fжr Uulion...

maybe the force isn't the only religion

The Force isn't a religion at all. It could be argued that the Jedi are a form of religion, who are practitioners of the Force. I know what you meant, though. ;)

I don't know if any of you have read any of the EU novels, but other religions are mentioned.

Having said that, the reference to Hell is a bit out of place in the Star Wars universe. Then again, if he had said anything else, would we have immediately taken his meaning?

Personally, I think this would have been better...

"I'll see you in the festering bowels of the almight Sarlacc!" ;)

"Jedi-ism" is a religion. From ANH:

VADER: Don't underestimate the power of the Force.

TARKIN: The Jedi are extinct, their fire has gone out of the universe.
You, my friend, are all that's left of their religion.

So there you have it. :D

There are all sorts of slip ups in the trilogy that break the idea of a totally different galaxy. I was watching ANH SE last night and Han calls Jabba a wonderful human being....

I also noticed that Obi Kwan ages ago when they first released the SE, it stuck out because I remember in a star trek movie where they are trying to negotiate peace with klingons the pact says "human beings" and they took offence to that. And no I'm not a huge trekkie, I just remember that for some odd reason.....

I think it's plausible. After all, most people say "you nerf herder!" in this galaxy without really knowing what it means, don't they?

The nerf is what gets herded, the nerf herder is the person who does the dirty job. It's like calling someone a... a... ummm... a little help here someone?

When Han said to Jabba "You're a wonderful human being" he did it because Jabba is neither a human being nor wonderful. i.e. SARCASM.

A Nerf-herder herds Nerfs. They are food. It is basically a sheperd.

Also, to go back to the original topic, eye defects in the SW universe could probably fixed by bacta or cybernetics, or the aforementioned laser surgery.

Just look at Booster Terrik, one of his eyes is a glowing red cybernetic ala Terminator. The thing is that Star Wars Tech is really advanced, and, don't they just look really cool without glasses. Think about it.

Officer: "Your Taun Taun will freeze to death before you reach the first marker."

Han nervously pushing glasses up on the bridge of his nose: "Then I'll see you in hell. That is I'll see you if I could just get these darned glasses to stay on." :)

So, lets say they look cool and leave it at that.
