Will u people stop complaining about this game. I mean this is just the demo, right? Personally, I hated the AoK demo but loved the game. This is not the finished product!!!! ! There are lots of good points a bout the game anyways. Aslo can u please stop complaining about the aircraft not strafing or however u call it :D , I mean what is best in real life? U might miss if u go all over the place, but u will get a clearer shot if u stay still. That's why snipers can actually hit thier victims  .
Oh, yaeh, and capital ships just won't fit in the game, mainly because they are too big.
Heh, heh, no flaming on this thread, OK.
*everyone goes to sleep :bored because thay can't complain any more*
I kind of agree. I dont mind when people make intelligent post in which they clearly state negative thoughts. But it makes me sooooo mad when people compare this DEMO to a complete game like starcraft or something else. That isnt fair
I agree with you, but just one thing.
This IS the final product. A few little things may cahnge, but what you see is what you get. Of course, you have the campaigns and new maps and modes, but as far as gameplay goes it is finished already.
Very well said. I doubt I could say that better.
From the Star Destroyer, Sly
ImpStarII :vsd:
But for example the mp map terrain in the demo is for sure one of the worst lookin, dunno what rode them into including it ...

The art is finished according to Gaber. Everything else they are just touching up. For example the sound is the biggest part they are currently working on...
well there is more than 1 mp map just that only the DEMO can just use that one and even then the map for 2 players is different from the map with 3 and the map with 4.

True, but what most people complain about is air units (which you get huge upgrades for in tech 4), buildings being too strong (you get blaster cannon in tech 4), Civs being the same (they get extremely8 different in tech 4). That is my point.
Tie Guy If this is the final product why didn't they go "gold" yet? I know they are working on some bugs, sound effects, final campaigns, AI, Music. I rember hearing they are in the final testing phase. They could dhange a few things about the gamplay such as unit tweaks and what not. I don't think this is the final product. I guess only thise that are beta testing this game can tell us for sure. But we haven't heard from those people.
It's very hard, i would say impossible, for a promising and long expected game (a good star wars startegy game) to fully live up to expectations. Especially for a game set in a extremely popular and well known setting like the Star wars franchise.
We will dissect this game, pointing out all the small or more important faults.
We will complain about all the items that could have been included to make it a better game (or at least to our personal taste).
But we will still buy it, play a lot with it and talk about it.
The demo did not impress me that much, it seemed to me too much like an AoK clone with a star wars setting but i Know that i will still buy the game and enjoy it for hours and hours, getting my moneys worth.
I dont think this game is in any way an Age of Kings clone...i played Age of Kings like a zillion times and this is waay different. Age of Kings never had a unit with the speed and latitude of the air units. The closest thing was cavalry units and air units are still faster...this is good cuz you can keep attacking even if the wave of ground units you send in is destroyed. Also i think it is good that building have such high hitpoints...remember when the Terran marine would sit there and catch a building on fire by himself...how many times you seen a soldier single handedly burn a weapons factory to the ground with just his rifle? We dont know about navy units yet, but the anti-air ships got good hitpoins and lots of armor which means you can put a few along the shore and no kind air is gonna get past em...anti-air troops only got a few hitpoints and low armor and they eat ships for breakfast. Plus the Rebels and the Imps are pretty similar anyways to start with, i think once we can play Gungans and Wookies and such the game will feel really different. Also when you think about it..arent all RTS games the same...THey all got resources you gotta collect fast, they all got building for just troops, they all got building for just cavalry/tanks,..they all got building for just air, some of them make you build houses others make you build pylons, supply depots but they all the same when you really think about it...the only RTS game i ever seen that was really different was MYTH: the Fallen Lords because there was no base building and whatever troops you had was what you had and if you lost em all quickly or stupidly then you were screwed. So yeah, this game doesnt do much new but when you look at Warcraft 3 they do even less...4 civs, only gold to collect...so lets give this game some slack.
Tie, actually, this is beta, is not COMPLETELY finished.

It may not be totally finished, but i said as far as gameplay goes. All they really do in Beta Testing is squash the bugs and polish up the game. So, it really is pretty much finished, just with a few bugs and glitches.
Youring doing the same thing so stop complaining about other people complaining about their complaining about them complaining at this game.
So in other words quit Complaining and the counter Complainers the people who are saying quit we shall also quit complaining.
Could u repeat that, didn't get it from the point about complaining ...;) :D
To be serious, you are right, I don't give a **** about what other people think, if they don't like this game, it's their inalienable (or something) right and I won't challenge it !!
i SHOULD say something about suggestive language here... but you already know that...
i'll immensly enjoy the whole deal. no matter how many flaws i might encounter. i think they won't measure up against any multiplayer battle.
You said it Com Raven,
Its great to read a reply that gets straight to the point.
I for one am sick of all the stupid loosers out there, who come to post pathetic dribble about how much SGB sucks, with no intention to actually improve the game... just to get some attention.
My addvice if its not constructive, dont bother and go back to Bagging SGB with your imaginary friends, and GET A LIFFFFEEEE!!!!!!!
Whew.. I really had to say that
Cool you agree Nixon .
But that is something I really don't understand . There are quite a few games that I hate but I consider my time far to precious to run around telling everyone how much I hate it !!!:(
Ah well, if ppl don't have better things to do ....
this is from the Gamespy preview:
Sights and Sounds -- Star Wars Style
'Visually, the beta is a bit strange in that it looks very grainy at 800x600 resolution, but improves dramatically at higher settings. LucasArts says that the graphics in the beta are "not final" so hopefully this area will be tightened up a bit before launch.'
Just so you know... they are still working on it !
