What do you guys think will be able to take out an armada of AT-ATs heading your way if you were not playing the rebels which have the use of the Snow Speeder?
Air units. Droidekas. Shielded heavy gungan mechs, etc. Plenty of things, this game is gonna take balanced armies to win buddy
Balanced armies are a nice myth. AoK was notorious for the Turk and Korean rampage. I still hated the noobs who would not let you use them in a game because they did not know how to defeat them. I am starting to think that the Imperials will be another Koreans.
Interesting, because every civ has a unit equal to walkers. So I am very confused as to what you are talking about (not every civ, but three of them). Furthermore, one of my major points was the use of air units to counter ATAT's, yet you compare that to AOE?? Enlighten me, which civ in AOE had air units?? I dont recall that, we must have played a different version of AOE.
Mech destroyers, air units, mainly fighters, and Jedi masters.
for one thing mech destroyers may be good but they wont last long and if its an armada of at-ats then the jedi would go down quickly too as for air units I think that was a really stupid how the at-ats cant attack air, and that may be one of the downfalls of the game
Rebels are obviously the best choice vs. Imperial mechs.
They have great air, great Jedi and the airspeeder. Could they ask for more? ;)
sith masters are going to whoop jedi masters

So basically you want a game with unstoppable ATAT's. That would be a pretty ****ty game

Look at the techs for their ultimate mech unit. Imperials get the biggest mech bonuses. That is equal to you?

Who said anything about air units? First off, the only air unit that is capable of taking down an AT-AT is a speeder. And my initial post clearly says in black and white, what would you do IF YOU WERE NOT the Rebels.
I dont recall saying if you ARE the Rebels, we must have read a different version of this thread...
Definately, you had a very valid point Tirion,
Any way, i agree that you dont need a balanced army to win the game, but you do leave yourself open to a massive counter attack
;)
I would say a Lots of mech destroyers coupled with some troop back-up would do the job, if you weren't rebels.
