Very interesting question.

Might be possible and even fun to play around with it, but I'm willing to bet that it'd be far easier to simply patch the game.

Well, you would only need to slipstream once. :)

I know that it's possible to do so on some games, but never found any info regarding KotOR.

Well, I personally tried to extract the patch with 7-Zip and it didn't work.

That would've been my first step.
