hey General Chang !
welcome..

no doubt will there be a place where you can upload / download scenario's and recorded games. The rating system will probably change however. Galactic Battlegrounds will have so many features that weren't in AOK (like shields, power-buildings, Jedi, underwater-structures and air-units) that those aspects wouldn't be covered by such a rating system.

Best thing would be to mail a moderator; they'll be able to tell you probably.

Having Played AOK and AOK:TC triggers are by far the best part of the editor. You can create Scenarios and Campaigns better than Ensemble will have for you. You can make RPGs, Build N Destroys, etc. Almost any thing u can think of u can make and thats what I liked best about the Age of Empires Series. I doubt that they change the triggers much if any in GBG. They will most likey have a Conditions and Effects.

That sounds a lot like SC editor. If it's like that I should have no problem.

hey, Angered Wookie, welcome here.

what level of player would people classify you in AOK ?

so you worked with triggers ? how easy to use were they ?
i fiddled around a little bit with the AOK editor, but never used them because they seemed too complicated.

Tie Guy, go to the Age of Kings Heaven Forms and look for their tutorials on Scenario Making and/or browse the website.

HTML doesn't work here, if that makes a difference.

Nope, it's the UBB way of fading colors...
like this:
color=green-purple Look at this! /color
(with brackets)

It doesn't seem to work here and neither does whisper...

What is whisper?

Whisper makes your font look tinier and smaller, so you'd read it like you were whispering. I guess.

Here's a question about triggers ? What do you feel would be things happening in the campaigns ? Like, for instance, scouting a certain area on Hoth and encountering a probe droid ??

That would be good. Or one could be like you have a commando team, and when you destroy their "town center" you get a ton a reinforcements to take over the rest of the base, and then move on to the other enemies on the map.

If the Sceanrio editor is as good as the AOK one, we can do much more then that, Tie Guy... You could create a RPG, B&D, etc...

Yeah, well i'm starting simple at first, then i'll make something more complex. But you gotta admit, a commando level would be fun.

A 'trigger' is a feature in the AOK scenario-editor that allows for certain things to happen if you do certain things. Does that make sense ? :D
For instance: if you'd edit a scenario for GB in Cloud City, you'd have Leia escape with her friends. Once they would go through a certain hallway, you could 'trigger' lots of troops coming their way.

Game developers use triggers to let their scenario's have a real story-feel..

Probably, Tie Guy. But, I fear that when Battlegrounds comes out the site will be flooded with scenarios just like that. That's why I am going to try to create something a little more original. But who knows?

Anyways, will someone please post how to do triggers in AOK? I really want to know, as i don't own the game.

Of course we can. A trigger turns on special actions in your units, terrain ,etc. The most common way of doing them is the next:

You Create a trigger.
You create a condition- There are different conditions, including:
Timer, Bring object to object, etc.
You create an effect- These are:
change possession, change objective etc.

For example let's suppose you want your Player 1 Militia to turn to player's 2 miltia, when you destroy a barracks. The trigger would look like this:

Trigger 1
Condition1: Destroy object (You set the barracks as the object)
Effect1: Change possession (You set you Militia as the object which will be converted) and set :
Origin player: Player 1
Target Player: Player 2

Hope it was useful. If not, tell me an I'll explain again.
