here's hoping you make a Capture The Flag game-type.
In AOK, monks could carry Relics, right ?
Well, how would it be if instead of a relic, you'd have a flag.
And once that flag was inside some kind of fence, you'd have it, like in most of the FPS-games.
You could blast each other trying to get to it and bring it to your base... every infantry unit could carry it (wouldn't have to be viible on-screen; just with an icon appearing) and when time was up, you'd be able to see who had the flag the longest..
Think about it.. it could be done and would be a first for any RTS-game.
That's already a lot like the relic victory condition in AoK, but instead of 1 relic there would be more. So what эou're suggesting is just a standard game with just one relic (I pressume killing the enemy is also a victory condition in your CTF version)
You don't have to have a relic...
You could use a hero, Luke for the Rebel Alliance, Darth Vader for the Empire, Chewie for the Wookies, and use them as your deicated flag-capturers.
As they would be the only ones to move the flag, they would be prime targets!
If they were killed, you could have them respawn after some time had passed.
It really wouldn't be called a relic. Most likely it will be called something like "Jedi Holocron"
Pretty good idea, although it seems that most people would destry oblliterate the enemy and then take the flag, so it would end up as a normal game. Plus, it would be hard to sneak into a place to get a flag, as you could build walls and shields. That would make it so that you almost have to kill most or all of the enemy before having a chance.
