I like the new thing on the official site, with Starkiller standing in the rain and not giving a **** because he's that badass.

I think LA are more focused on a solid game for console before handhelds. So I would not count on a PSP release unless one comes later.

Well, a whole different company made the hand-held and Wii versions of TFU 1.

Lucas Arts still published though. Plus another company would need permission from them to even make a game.

Ok, so I just got my new issue of OXM today in the mail. It is for July 2010 and it has First Look at TFU2. They were introduced to the game's opening scene. Haden Blackman was quoted "We knew we wanted to bring back Starkiller, we're very attached to him; we thought we could build an entire franchise around him and continue to tell stories during this time period."

What they describe from the game's text crawl they learned that the Rebel Alliance may still be ragtag, but it's now growing in power against the Empire.

Here is what they had written describing the opening scene:
On the world of Kamino - shown in AOTC as the manufacturing homeworld of the Empire's duplicate soldiers - Vader's ship touches down at an isolated facility to visit a training room cloaked in shadow. Chained to a wall is Starkiller, who Vader promptly releases shortly before revealing that his former apprentice is, indeed, a clone. With only fragmented memories, Starkiller finds himself up you-know-what creek without a paddle. As this clone, you don't know what to believe - how many of your thoughts and memories are your own? Vader preys on your confusion, convincing you that you exist expressly to do his bidding.
This opening sequence also pits you against a small fleet of hologram droids who, like your late sidekick Proxy, can assume the guise of different characters. One transforms into Starkiller's love interest from the previous game, Juno Eclipse, and this proves to be your catalyst. "Every time Starkiller goes to strike down Juno, he can't," Blackman says. "He's overwhelmed by emotion, by memories of her - presumably from the real Starkiller's experience in the first game."
Vader then reveals that you are a failed clone - one built using a special sped-up process whose inherent glitches often drive clones insane. Good times, but the joke's on him as you make your escape to avoid your inevitable termination as a clone with bad wiring. Now you're on the run through Kamino, taking down Stormtroopers and AT-STs with your still-developing Jedi powers. As you escape, you learn more info - that you were created to assassinate Jedi Kota, who taught you how to be a good Jedi in the first game, on Cato Neimoidia, an archway planet that fans have seen only briefly in Revenge of the Sith. Moreover, you know that finding Kota and joining with the Alliance will uncover more info on the whereabouts of Juno, who holds the key to your memories and Identity. ~ Francesca Reyes

The images are nothing new, mainly those of Cato Neimoidia. Each picture has a caption, two of which confirms small details - You'll face more enemy types than you did in the first game - around 20, says Blackman. You will face off with a giant monster called the Gorog on Cato Neimoidia (I know this one was already confirmed).

There was also this:
The Planet of Cato Neimoidia is not only where General Rahm Kota is being held in Force Unleashed II, but also the home of a giant blood-game arena...and casinos! You'll have to fight your way through these gladiator-like games to reach Kota, but there'll also be plenty of good ol' Vegas-style wagering going on for the winners of each tournament.

We were surprised at how much story LucasArts revealed to us for this preview. They claim it covers roughly half of the game, culminating in your eventual attempted rescue of Juno Eclipse aboard a ship that's under attack by Imperial forces. We didn't see any of that potential meet-up, though. Talk about a cliffhanger!

I'm so happy its confirmed for the PC. Zero day buy for me! :)

Hope they spend a little more time on the Console port though, especially the control system which was really poor imo.

I say stop worrying about "canon," and judge this on the gameplay. The story takes a back seat because this is basically an action arcade type game to begin with. If you want compelling storylines and deep characters, try the RPGs... that's what they're known for, after all.

That said, I'm not saying I WANT them to use silly plotlines, but those are far less important in a game like this. It's just an excuse to get a "Dark Jedi" running around hacking people up and throwing stuff around with the Force, general chaos. If that means using every "Comic Book Death" cliche in the book, oh well...

Fewer QTEs would be a good thing too, though I still think people bashing Multiplayer (and praising the lack of it in the sequel) is a stupid thing. Maybe THEY are sick of online multiplayer on consoles, but PC gamers are far from sick of that kind of thing, and there's always the option to have a bunch of friends playing around the TV. If the whiny brats/racist poseurs/cheaters are in your own house, that's your problem.
