I can't seem to find a stable explanation as to how icons are assigned to the items they're intended for. Can someone help by sending a link to a good explanation or by explaining it?

Icons correspond to texture number, so for example for Jedi robes the textures PFBI08 and PMBI08 correspond to the icon number ia_JediRobe_008.tga, that make sense?

Only partially... I keep thinking if the texture is called n_jedirobe08.tga then the icon should be called in_jedirobe08.tga, but how do I know how to call my icon? I have exiletunic.uti which has a templateresref of exiletunic, its texture is n_commf17.tga, how do I know how I call the icon? (btw the texture does work ingame)
