Hi, this is Te Darasuum Mand'alor better known as Mrcharlton and I'm here to talk about my new SC mod. Skinning is going well along with the story and we will begin working on modules soon. Here is the stuff I'll be revealing for now.

Story: 60% complete(writing process is almost finished)

Skinning: 2% Skinning has already began with the help of Dak Drexl and Te Prudi Mand'alor.

Modules: 1% Starting to edit them

The game itself hasen't been tested quite yet, but will be soon along with the skinned characters.

First of all, you put Imagesgack, not imageshack.....

Secondly, it sounds interesting, except that it will probably fail as -most- TC/SC do....

I've heard of a TC but what is an SC?

An SC is a story conversion like Trex's The Jedi Masters. It doesen't completely convert everything given the fact we will be using many existing modules along with maybe 5 or 6 new ones.

lolif you had tested it with only 2% of skins and pretty much 0 modules and by looking at your percentages i guessing 0 scripts so i doubt you could try it and give a detailed review :thmbup1:

I hope this project does work

Not bad, but Carth looks a little too old, basing on which time this is going to be based, he should only look about a couple years older than in TSL., which means maybe you could give him a beard, but not much else

To be honest, I don't even know how old he's supposed to be, so I just gave him gray hair.

Apparently in Kotor 1 he's supposed to be in his late 30's, Early 40s since this is 4 years late, he would either still be in his early 40s or mid 40s, I would pick early 40s

@Kyr'am Galaar, Carth's all yours. These are the first skins I've ever done, to be honest. You can't take the others though! They're all mine.

Nice work Dak. I'm guessing Kala is a Mandalorian based on the clan name? And it looks like she beheaded that guy in the pic behind her. :p
Seriously nice work for your first skins ever ner'vod. Way better than my first.

Thanks man, and yes, she is related to a Mandalorian we all know and love. Haha, don't worry about what's behind her, that's just Kreia. Seriously, it is Kreia. Yeah, I started out just doing concept art for Mrcharlton and I got snowed in a few days ago. So, bored out of my mind, I decided to try to skin. It turned out alright, then they became these. They'll all more than likely be improved and there's also more to come.

At least he doesn't look like he's 60! I like what you did instead of me going all grey.

Agreed. I like it. I just tried to model my first new head for a character. It actually looked pretty good, but it was really whacked out! I'm posting a help thread, if anyone's good at modeling.

Actually, this mod takes place ten years after kotor and 6 after TSL. Carth is supposed to have grey hair. My Dad is only 41 (42 in March) and has quite alot of greyish hair. He also has a bald spot in the middle. Carth is perfect how he is.

My dad is 47, and his hair has no visible gray spots yet. But I do agree, Carth looks fine as he is.

Carth is 38 in KotOR, so he'd be 48.
I know my father is 57, and has just a few silvery hairs mixed in his brown hair.
So tidy up the temples a bit, add a few silvery mists in the beard, and you're good.
Although Carth's military.
Military men age a bit quicker than normal people. I knew a warrant officer, who was about 55. His hair was silver as a spoon.

I just remembered, I have the German version of TSL.
And somehow, every time I use a mod that alters some dialog, the game snaps back to normal game playing, and I can't talk to the person again.
When adding merchants, I don't even get subtitles or visible options.
Any Idea what that can be?

(I can't get him in-game. If someone who knows how to do this could check out my help thread (http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=202700) it would be awesome)

Please do not be angry now, but he looks nice, but Zayne sees not similar. Zayne reminds me more like Atton (if you're from the drawings in Kotor comic pose as almost a similarity exists).

Haha, I'm not angry at you. I originally modeled a head which was a bit more Zayne-like, but I have a mental block when it comes to getting it to work in-game. If people don't like this guy, then I can go back to that. Thanks for the input!

Edit: He was based primarily on this picture:

our original zayne was a Mical reskinn with brown hair. Then he tried a reskin of Vaklu which didn't work at all.

and never used them :¬:

Like the Carth skin, but you should add a few light forhead wrinkles. It really makes a huge impact on the skin. Just a suggestion.
Good luck with this. Can't wait to see more!

@Darth Payne,

Yeah, all 3 (regular, jawless, and Jedi) Malak skins are in the files for TSL. Most of the characters from K1 are in there (which is quite helpful :D). Do people like the jawless Malak for that character or would another Malak be better liked? I just feel like the jawless adds a slight scary factor and maybe some interesting backstory.

Thanks. I was wondering, since you have Zayne Carrick as a PC and Mission did have a crush on Zayne as a small girl. I think Zayne was a padawan on Taris before the Padawan Massacre kicked off. It's been a while.

Well I haven't read the comics myself, but I did read up on my wookieepedia :thmbup1:
You're right about Zayne being a padawan on Taris before the massacre. Whether or not Mission makes an appearance in the mod, I really can't say, partially because I'm not entirely sure, lol.

The one that wasn't completely grey. Just had a few grey touches.

That one is mine. Not the "official" version of Carth in this mod...

I might work on it more for my own game... Honestly, I don't think it looks very good.

Anywho.... I don't think that this mod is gonna make it. I was too eager to join, I didn't think much about what I was getting myself into... Ah well.

What I'm trying to say, is that Darasuum jumped way too far. You can't expect to just come into the modding business and expect everything to be easy, for you to be great from the start. You need to start small, it may not be too grand, but everyone has to start somewhere. People will help. They will provide (for the most part) constructive criticism. Like the old saying, "practice makes perfect", start, work your way up, then see if you're ready to take on a big project. Not a TC or an SC. But something that people will enjoy. And most importantly: That you will enjoy. Modding is mostly to spend your free time. So why not enjoy yourself?

That's all I have to say.

^^Couldn't have said it better myself. I actually wouldn't have even really tried modding if it weren't for this project though, so for that I owe my thanks to Darasuum. Like you said Kyr'am, it has to be fun for you most importantly. I have tons of fun making skins for this, and I've learned a lot about other types of modding in the process. How were approaching this is that we are starting small and building up as we learn. Thanks for the advice!

p.s. I actually rather like your Carth skin :)
