Here's the Anakin model I was working on. Has an issue or two that will be sorted out by the next version, and it looks more like the Clone Wars than the movie version, but it's something. Read the Readme for more info...

FILENAME: almost_anakin.zip
FILE SIZE: 3.35 MB (Most of the filesize is due to the extra files for modders)
DATE RELEASED: August 4, 2009

DESCRIPTION: This my first model, based on Anakin "t3h chosen one" Skywalker. Why is it called "Almost" Anakin, you ask? Well, it doesn't have his signature scar. Despite enormous effort on my part and help from experienced modelers, the model just wouldn't process correctly and would appear very wrong in-game. However, I have included a folder in the .zip file called "Broken Files." This folder has the skins I created that have the scar, the original model adjusted to fit the skin, and the .max file for easy opening in 3ds Max. Why did I include this? So that any of you downloaders that have modeling skills can try to put the model in-game so that it works properly. Read the instructions for what to do if you want to take a crack at making the scarred version of the model work...

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Simply drop the files in the main folder into your "override." If there's no override for some reason, create one...

Do you want to try to get the scarred model in-game? Here's what to do:
1. Extract the "Broken Files" folder somewhere
2. Open up 3ds Max
3. Open up the "anakin_broken.max" file, which is located in the "Broken Files" folder
4. If there is no texture on the model, apply the one in the "Broken Files" folder

So now you have the model open. If you were to put the model in-game now, it would use the old UV map instead of the new one, and the skin would appear weird, even if you adjust the UV map accordingly. Tricky, huh? Take a look at these threads if you need help:

http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=198807)
http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=199428)

If you do manage to get it working, send it to me! I'll check it out, and if it works, I'll send it in with both of our names on it.

COMMENTS: Trying to get that scar on was one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. Anyway, enjoy!

BUGS: Some clipping issues on the hair... Hopefully, I'll straighten it out by the next version. Also, there are some black lines in the chin when looking at your character outside of conversations/cutscenes, but it's not really noticeable.

PERMISSIONS: If you're fixing the scarred model, do what's said above and send it to me first. If you're just skinning it or something, then you can do whatever you want as long as you credit me.

Thanks. When you say the chin looks odd, are you talking about the screenshot, or the head selection screen? If you're talking about the head selection, the black lines should disappear in-game. If you're talking about the screenshot, any ideas on how to improve it?

I think you could retitle it "Clone Wars Anakin", which sounds better than Almost.

That's an e-mail address I made solely for modding, but all right.

Good idea, but he still has the scar in that cartoon IIRC. That's probably what I'll name the final product, though.

His lips look like he's frowning. Unless that's just the screenshot I say purse them a bit so they don't look so squashed together.

I'll give you a reference. It's probably only Anakin model made for any game so far that's really accurate replica of movie version.

Using HS Anakin is a good idea. The reference pictures I chose to use apparently weren't good, but that looks pretty useful. I'll get on it soon.
