Hello guys..I made some lightsaber reskins and tested them in game and they looked great and I was wondering how can I create seperate crystals for the colours that I made?
Well, first off, make your crystal in photoshop/gimp/miscellaneous photo editing program, and save it with the same naming scheme as the other crystals. (I don't have KOTOR Tool installed ATM. But as an example, if the standard blue crystal is blahblah_001.tga, than you have to rename your crystal as blahblah_020.tga, or some other numeric under 255, IIRC)
After you save it, make your uti file. In the model variation field, put in the same number as your tga file (if you put in 20 for the tga file, put in 20 for the model variation)
For testing, make it so that it replaces an existing crystal. After you know the uti file and icon works, you can have it be a brand new crystal, without replacing the original crystals. I'm not sure ATM, as I can't exactly test it, but after you make your custom crystal, try to put it in a lightsaber, and see if it doesn't break your saber. If it doesn't, its ready for release. If not, you'll have to do some 2da editing. All you'd need to do is copy the row that you need, for whatever color, paste it, and replace the crystal name with your crystal's name.
When I first wanted to create a crystal it just didn't appear to me:( The way that TriggerGod suggested seems good. I'll try that too:)
ok ok...i get it but how do i make the uti file? sorry for these questions.. i am new :D

Just open Kotor tool and go to the bif-templates-bluprint item
there find a random saber crystal for example g1_w_sbrcrstl20
double-click on it and you will see the item editor. There you can change things what you want. If you're done with it, save it as an .uti file and you're all set to go:)

the uti file is the standard file type the game uses for items, weapons, armor, etc. If you can equip it, or if it goes into your inventory, it has a uti file.
As for making a new one, its best that you edit an existing one. Find the saber crystal uti's (it should u_l_colo or something like that, I can't check ATM), and edit it. The most that you can do to a color crystal in terms of editing it is changing is model variation, and giving it a new description.
Just a note before you save your crystal icon. Unless you plan on having it replace an existing crystal, you have to give it it's own unique number. You can give it this by looking at the naming scheme for all the crystal icon files, and than giving your icon a number that the normal gave doesn't have.
Well yes that's a little better description what TriggerGod wrote but I'm not an experienced modder yetr:)
