Heh, still not even available for download yet, and I've already updated it again.

Previous versions were rejected by KotorFiles for unknown reason(s) (possibly because I hadn't included any screenshots with my submissions as I didn't think they were necessary for a strictly dialog mod). And, LucasFiles is apparently closed to new mods, as my submission e-mails always bounced back. So, I've made it available on regular FileFront as a ZIP archive (http://files.filefront.com/CW+FixKreiaDialog+v111zip/;13477308;/fileinfo.html) and a more compressed RAR archive (http://files.filefront.com/CW+FixKreiaDialog+v111rar/;13477307;/fileinfo.html). I'll update this post when I'm aware of more download locations becoming available.

2009-03-28: Added more download links due to the unfortunate closing of FileFront :(.

Captain WhyNot's
Fixes to Kreia's Dialog
for the Skill Bonuses Pseudo-Quest and others
mod v1.11 (released 2009-03-16)
For SW KotOR II: The Sith Lords

Have you ever wondered why you don't actually get a bonus to your chosen best and worst skills from Kreia's skills pseudo-quest even though you're told that you do? Or, why you can tell her that you've devoted training to your worst skill to continue the quest without actually having done anything? Well, I did, and I decided to fix them. This mod will change Kreia's dialog to actually give your best and worst skills a bonus (as the dialog said it did but didn't before) and it won't let you say you trained your worst skill until you have. Incidentally, changes to "kreia.dlg" will also fix her dialog to check for Disciple's or Handmaiden's availability for the party where appropriate instead of checking the Exile's (your main PC's) gender, using an albeit different method (that I like to think is more elegant as it doesn't require any scripts not inherent to a non-modified game) than what stoffe -mkb- used in the Handmaiden Party Member Option for Female Exiles mod (and was incorporated into the TSL Holowan Plugin). And, you will be able to ask Kreia about all three of the Sith Lords no matter in which order you choose to ask about them. (I found it odd that if you asked about them in a certain order, she would only talk about two of them.)

These fixes are accomplished by modifying (or adding, if not present) the files "kreia.dlg" & "globalcat.2da" and by adding (or replacing if already present) support scripts written by me "cw_a_store_skill.ncs" & "cw_c_sb_gt_var.ncs".

This mod should be compatible with any other mods that don't vastly change Kreia's main dialog file “kreia.dlg” (so long as the files this mod would modify are in the "Override" folder and not in a sub-folder of it) since it uses stoffe -mkb-'s excellent TSLPatcher to patch in the necessary changes, but I offer no guarantees. However, I have specifically tested for compatibility with stoffe -mkb-'s Handmaiden Party Member Option for Female Exiles and the TSL Holowan Plugin (which both use the exact same "kreia.dlg" file) and the USM (Ultimate lightSaber Mod) mods.

The source files for the scripts that I wrote can be found in the "source" sub-folder of this mod's main folder.

To install, just extract all the files from this mod's archive (with folders intact) somewhere and run the "TSLPatcher.exe". An alternate method of installation is to copy the Override folder inside this mod's archive into your game's main folder (creating an Override folder if it does not already exist and overwriting any existing files there). This alternate method, however, will be less compatible with other mods.

If you need to uninstall this for some reason, you can do so by copying the files from the "backup" folder (created under the mod's installation folder during installation) back into the "Override" folder (overwriting the newer ones there).

You might notice from the dates of some of the files that I started work on this mod over 3 years ago. I had originally intended (and was almost ready) to release it towards the end of February of 2006; however, my computer suffered from the death of a hard drive (in which I lost some data which hadn't been backed-up yet) and was further delayed by other events in my life. After a long break, I decided to finally finish off this mod and release it. Hopefully some people will still appreciate playing KotOR2 TSL with these fixes to Kreia's dialog.

Version History:
1.11 (2009-03-16)
Very minor change to make TSLPatcher automatically detect the game folder again. (I had forgotten to set it back that way after testing and before archiving for release.)

1.10 (2009-02-27)
I realized that if “kreia.dlg” had entries added to it before this mod patched it, then new links to new entries added by this mod would likely get referenced incorrectly. So, after reading up on TSLPatcher and finding some nice changes since I'd first started using it, I reworked the “changes.ini” to use dynamic indices which should make this mod much more compatible with any other mods that add to “kreia.dlg”.

Released updated version. Also, having not received a reply with a reason why this mod was previously rejected by KotorFiles, and having submission e-mails bounced back from LucasFiles, I have uploaded it to regular FileFront. See first post for links.

As it appears that FileFront (and thus KotorFiles) is really closing down :cry8: (see "Filefront 'indefinitely suspended'" thread in Ahto (http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=196670)), I have uploaded my mod to both RapidShare and MegaUpload. See first post for new links.

And, in case anyone's wondering about being able to upload my mods elsewhere and didn't pay attention to the ReadMe :xp:, I have no problem with my mods being distributed wherever so long as they are in their complete unaltered forms and available without charge. I don't even mind if they are incorporated in part or in whole into other free mods as long as credit is given to me for my work and I am notified.
