I thought we should have a thread with some handy tools for gmax and Max

This site has some nice plug-ins for gmax I forgot gmax has native .3ds import but can't export as .3ds

Gmax v1.2 Registration Utility:It Works fine and well who knows how long turbo squid will support gmax. It's best to grab that file while you can and save it some place safe. Since gmax is free I don't see any issue posting this it's just the .reg file of someone else's gmax installation to bypass having to wait for an email with your code, then just hit cancel on the box that pops up as gmax is loading since version 1.2 is the latest.

Reminder always run gmax from the nwmax icon or you won't export your ascii mdl.

The other importers and exporters are handy too so is WCVT2POV v1.0 for conversions

of note"*Spline to boxes: This script may come in very handy for gmax'ers looking to quickly build interiors for their games. All you do is draw a straight spline, run the script and presto! Walls that are ready for tweaking, mapping or export." You could extrude it as well but this may save time.
