I know a lot of people don't like the game, but should I try it at least? I am a fan of the rest of the three games, so I feel like I should try it at least...where is a good place to find it?

It's not a bad game at all. Inferior to the other three for sure IMO, but still well worth playing. In terms of quality it sits above most adventure games (especially any released afterwards).
Yeah, like Thrik says, on it's own, it's a pretty decent game, but compared to the others, it's not as good.
This game is good but compared to the others its not that good. Still this game is worth trying.

Well, I've tried the launcher, and that didn't really help, it crashed on the same momement.
I have Windows XP profesional
and here's the exact problem:
I start up, intro movie works, but sometimes the sound stutters, then ingame it works for a short while, but normal half way in a convo with wally it crashes, the sound stops and repeats, and I cant do anything but press escape, when I do that and go back to the game, the game goes further again, but the sound doesn't after a few secs, it stops again and cant be started again.
But I'll try those links. I don't think I tried the coin.
Maybe you should try to get hold of a save game right after where you got stuck.
It never crashes in exactly the same spot, just after a certian time, or random it seems.
Bump, nope, tried them all, none of those work. Though isn't monkey island 3 also possible to play in ScummVM? though I can't get it to work there either.
Edit: Yay I finaly got it to work, I think after I installed it with the alternate installer ScummVM could find it, so it works perfectly now, appart from a few minor graphic bugs, but notthing serious.
