I've been trying to figure this out off and on for years. All I want to do is have a web site to put pictures and stuff on. Maybe even use it as a place to put my portfolio on. If I could get www.ig-64.com) that would be nice too. I just have no idea how to do this.

Type in domain names or make a forum, and put stuff on. Or maybe, even better, a BLOG!

Not meant in sarcasm or offensive.

Get a server. I'd go with DreamHost (http://www.dreamhost.com/). Then register a domain name.

How do I register a domain name? I've been wanting to register ig-64.com for awhile, but I've never know how or through who.

whoa IG, long time no see man :) Welcome to our domain..... no pun intended !! :p

Now, as far as your query, youre better off starting with something simple and free, and build up from there, depending on your needs.

I wouldnt focus on the domain registry stuff yet, as quite commonly a fee could be involved..

why dont you try google web page creator (https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=pages&continue=http%3A%2F%2Fpages.google.com%2F&ltmpl=yessignups) All you need is a google account, which you probably have if you have a gmail etc account. Otherwise, signup is quick/easy free anyway.

good luck
