I'll definately be getting the next one when it comes out. ProStreet sorta lacked the usual thrill I get playing NFS, but I'm hopeful Undercover brings it back.

It says in the article that it will be released later THIS year. Why does the thread title say 2009?

I don't know about that. I loved Most Wanted. Unfortunately, Carbon was all about cool rides and the story suffered greatly for it. I still haven't gotten Pro Street.

I'm not too big on racing games, unless they involve blowing stuff up (aka Burnout).

always been a fan of the NFS games. underground 1 was good, u2 & most wanted was great, carbon & prostreet were ok. i'll definitely keep an eye on its development. i just hope they take all the best apsects of the previous games and make a game which manages to incorporate them all, as well as some new features.
for insistence... the damage and driving physics of prostreet, the police involvement from most wanted (not the watered-down carbon version) and the customisation and free-roam of Underground 2. add a night/day cycle and weather changes and they could make a really great game.
i think they will have to step it up because the new midnight club game looks like it might poach a lot of the NFS fans that weren't impressed with the last efforts.

I like it that EA is going to make NFS: Undercover more of a story-driven game. While I enjoy racing games I much prefer ones that have a well-defined plot to them.

If you look at the release date it says "Late 2008".
