I just don't see why you would be attempting to help someone mod a game you've never played. You obviously aren't even sure what he's talking about, so it seems kind of like you're going to confuse him more than help him.

I didn't know that he was talking about the game....
then again, if he was talking general, he would have put it in "general discussion"

what can i do?

Using ModView (unsurprisingly short for model viewer) while skinning will help you see your changes in real-time without needing to constantly load up the game to view them. You should be able to find it fairly easily with a quick search.
