i need help getting started skinning

alright first off, i am going to need a FREE skinning program, a FREE program to view my mods, a FREE program that can open things like the Assets.pk3 file (winRAR doesnt do that D: ).
please give me some of these things to begin JO skinning

I just don't see why you would be attempting to help someone mod a game you've never played. You obviously aren't even sure what he's talking about, so it seems kind of like you're going to confuse him more than help him.

im trying to find a program now that can help me add on stuff to it easily because for example if i try to use paint to put a smiley face or something on it it turns out like this

Using ModView (unsurprisingly short for model viewer) while skinning will help you see your changes in real-time without needing to constantly load up the game to view them. You should be able to find it fairly easily with a quick search.
