Of items of course. Maybe feats...
How would you go about changing the description of an item. Not the powers, just the description. Or maybe the name. What tool would you use?

In KOTOR Tool, go to BIFs --> Templates --> Blueprint, Item. Then double click on the item you want to edit (consult a cheat code list to find out what is what), and you'll get a new window. There you can edit whatever you want. When you're done, save the file and copy it to your override folder. Note that this won't affect items that are already in your inventory.

EDIT: Blast...you beat me to it. :p

It works!
So I go to Blueprint, Items in a s.rim and there I can edit the description? Cool :D

Now, if I wanted to save the changes, would dropping it in the override just cause the changes, or would I need to do something else?

looking at the image, do you use the properties to change the item's upgrades? (ie. giving an armband +3 DEX, and +3 STR)

Yup. But when you're editing the property, you have to specify that the property will only be available if the item is upgraded. And if you're making a new item, you'll have to do some .2da editing to make it upgradeable in the first place.

I havnt experimented with it yet but i think you use this or can edit some of the things it gets added onto it, becuase i thin some items always give armor specific add-ons, but idk

You misunderstand me, Carter.
For example, the <FullName> Armband gives you a +1 CON
What you think I'm saying:
The Biorestorative Underlay gives you Regen. (And eventually CON)

I want the First Example.

Oh, I see. Just go to the properties tab and double click on one, and you can edit it. You can also double click on the star to add a property.

OK then.
Maybe I'll release a mod on this info :xp:

EDIT: Ok, so I am trying to give the Jal Shey Mentor Belt some extra stats.. and I can't make or enhance a property.

Err...
I'm trying to enhance the Jal Shey Mentor Belt to have better stats for Consolers (And do the same for other belts and other classes >_>). But when I try to enter 'Attribute Bonus' so I can add CHR and enhance the already there WIS modifier, it won't enter.

EDIT: the belt's code is a_belt_30.uti just for reference ;)

I think I know what you're doing wrong. It's what I did the first time. :D (Well, assuming you're doing what I think you're doing. ;))

You can't just change type stuff in. First click on a property. It gets highlighted. See that little black arrow? Double click it, and you'll get a new window. Then you can edit everything. ;)

Ok, I got it.
Now what? Where do I save it? Overwrite the original uti?

Save it to the desktop, and then copy it to your Override folder. If you already have the item in your inventory, it won't change, though (and I'm pretty sure it won't if the item has already been spawned in a store, either). But other than that, the changes take place immediately.

So that should work for all items?
Ok then...
EDIT: YAY!
I'd like to thank everyone here for helping me. Sorry, I forgot to add credits to my read-me, so I place them here:
Fred Tetra for the KOTOR tool
JCarter, Wraith, and 90SK/CaptainSkye for their help
And of course, me :D
