Hey i just tryed to do setup after downloading kotorTools, i downloaded the Mircosoft.Net before the download.

I get this when i try to run the program..... :confused:

I guess the obvious question is: do you have "c:\program files\lucasarts\swkotor\chitin.key" on your computer?

Actually these errors are quite common TK. Alot of times it is because you need to update and patch .NET 1.1 and then download .NET 2.0 as well. The other part of it is that Kotor Tool is trying to search for the default installation directory for Kotor, once again this is caused by not properly installing .NET framework and updating it.

Also for those who don't know you must restart your computer after installing each .NET package seperately as well as after installing there patches, also it is best to do this after installing Kotor Tool as well.

I do have the chitin.key, and right now i'm trying to get the latest microsoft.frame. I have uninstalled the game, and reinstalled but no luck so far, but if i download a mod from kotorfilefront....i can see them on photoshop to do reskinning.......hope to have this issue fixed this weekend...since i'm working on a MOD.

My kotor tools works now!!!!! Yeah!!! Onto the MOD! :D

how did you fix it? i have the exact same problem and i keep reinstalling net framework 1.1 and 2.0 and kotor tools but i still cant solve it :(


also.. all i want to do is extract texture files. if you know an alternative way to do this i would be grateful
