First things first, I have modding experience on several games. StarCraft was the first, I was cranking out at least 10 mods a month for SC. But RTS game mods are easy to make, not a lot of effort is required there. I use to mod NWN as well. New Modules was what I did, "training arenas" mainly with simple scripting and simple dialogs. Nothing too fancy, no real need to dive into 3D with it's built in editor.

Now that I've gotten back into modding after two years, 3D modding (Characters mainly, armors, weapons, etc...) is the next logical step on the road for me. Kotor is as good a place to start as any. Though there are probably games out there that are easier to mod then K1 and TSL. Though I hate starting with the "easy" crap like simple rods like Lightsabers. Almost anyone can do that. I want more of a challenge then that. No offense intended to anyone with that simple statement.

Now, I know custom models can be used in K1. Saber hilts for example.

Armor can be done as well, at least that's what I've seen with the Jango/Boba Fett and Stormtrooper armors/helmets.

So, I want to know (IN DETAIL!) what is actually required to create an Armor model for K1 from the ground up, and to make sure it is animated and not look like a stiff Voodoo Doll floating down Taris streets. I have already downloaded and installed GMax and NWMax. Though finding tutorials for making things with this program that I can actually understand is difficult at best.

I'm not going to go into detail about what kind of armors I'm wanting to make, because then I would have people asking me endless questions about it. I'll probably have to answer needless questions regarding that statement alone. The only answer I'll give to those kind of questions will be: "I'll make what I make and IF I decide to release it, I'll release it when it's finished, and I've made damn sure it works 110%!"

All I really need is someone to give(or point me to) a detailed step by step tutorial (In Plain English) for doing what I want to do, and to inform me of any and all limitations that K1 and TSL have.
