I've been looking to play Knights of the Old Republic with modification files but apparently I am doing something wrong with the installation. I downloaded a mod and put it in the Override folder that changes the troopers to the Stormtroopers used in the movies but at the beginning of the game the change does not take effect. I tried posting at the Lucasarts website but the response I got back was Greek to me. I was refferred also to Team Gizka who's restoring the content to The Sith Lords but not looking to play that either. What are the simple directions for installing mods into the Override folder so that everything works like it's supposed to? I don't have any interest in editing because feel it would be too hard for me. I am on a Windows XP Home Edition.

How exactly did you install the mod?

Did you just put the .zip/rar in the Override folder?

If so you need to empty the files out of the zip/rar and put the files in Override.

I moved or copied the folders and contents to the Override folder that came with the game. Thinking that was wrong. Yeah, I know this is'nt the likely place to post this. Didn't know where to go since I am new to the site. Sorry.

Some basic rules to using game modifications...

1) Read the readme files.
2) Read the readme files.
3) Read the readme files.
4) Failing that, if there isn't a readme file, send the modder a firm slap and be sure to check out possible alternative documentation. For us here we have this thread. How to install mods? (http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=143422)

If you are putting a folder into your override folder then that is likely the problem. I believe the only folder that should be added is the override folder itself if your game doesn't already have one. If it does then empty the file from the folder into the override folder and not the folder itself
