Mods making the game worth re-playing?

Hi!
From time to time I stick my nose here to look for mods, which would make K1 worth re-playing. Are there any such mods released? I mean some changes in the story, surprises. So far mods mostly just add uber-weapons and sexy clothes :) I know it it hard to mod, as there are no proper modding tools.
There were some "resporation" project in development, or not?
I'm tempted to ask the same question about K2, but I doubt a mod can save such pathetic and sad storyline ;)

Well I don't know about people adding spores to the game, but there are restoration projects in the works for both games. ;)

There are plenty of mods that add new plot content. You simply have to look for them. Also I don't know if I'd go as far as to say there are no 'proper' modding tools, unless by 'proper' you mean officially released. The fan-made tools are all very good, likely just as good (or better) as an officially released modding toolkit would be.

Though, apparently, the K1 restoration seems dead currently. This is their website: link (http://team-jawa.kotor2files.com/)

The K2 restoration mod, however, is actually near completed and is under development for years now. You'll find them to be more alive, just don't expect them to rush into releasing their mod. Link (http://www.team-gizka.org/)

Well if it's new Quests and Storyline your after try Brotherhood of Shadow (http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/Brotherhood_of_Shadow;83006), Recruitable Kay (http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/Recruitable_Kay;85258), and ORD Mandell (http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=136575&highlight=mandell) for K1.

For TSL i'd recommend Coruscant Jedi Temple (http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/Coruscant_Jedi_Temple;76316) and HK Factory Restoration (http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/HK_Factory_Reconstructed;75971).

There are other mods that make the game more enjoyable, in fact most mods do, but these are some of my favourites.

Those are some of the best i've played but there are more good mods out there. :)

Thanks for you info, I'll check out the mods.

Guess I'll have to find a mod which makes the game a bit more challenging. Btw, is there something makein non-jedi characters a bit stronger?

As fot he modding tools, I worked with TES Construction Set for Morrowind, which I consider rather good :) I think there is nothing like this for KOTOR.

If you want it to be harder try one of the Hardcore mods, I don't have links for them sorry.

And not sure about the second question but there are a few mods which make em into Jedi...

Thanks. Well, I don't want to make them jedi, I just want to be non-jedi characters useful :) Not that "will-make-you-a-jedi-in-a-minute" mass factory like in K2 :lol:

I find the non-Jedi characters quite useful as they are. I just give 'em one of the guns from the Yavin IV station and they sit back and shoot up everybody while my Jedi characters tank. I always bring Carth or Canderous in my party as "the resident non-Jedi." :D

The non-Jedi characters specialized for melee are fairly useless, though, I agree.
