I'm disappointed in myself. I haven't played Psy regularly in a good 3 months. I have played it for a couple hours one day...before my laptop overheated. So far, the most Psychonauts stuff I do regularly is open my phone...gotta Psy pic as my cell phone wallpaper.

Also, wasn't RD supposed to be dead by now? It's been bleeding for way more than five days without dying, I don't think we can trust it anymore.

It's because they've likely had enough bad crap going on in their life that they don't know how to cope with it anymore.

See this wiki entry (http://www.lucasforums.com/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=2348058) and this site (http://www.kidshealth.org/teen/your_mind/mental_health/cutting.html) for more info. These guys and gals really need help to learn better ways to deal with the bad things life throws at all of us at times.

Just out of curiosity--informal survey. How many of you know someone personally (including yourself) who cuts or has cut? No names or anything necessary, I just want to have an idea of how common it is.

I knew 2 girls who did that, but they were more attention seekers than really deppressed.

And thank you for the points Itchy, I knew I couldn't be the only here who watches The Report. TO be honest, I clap and cheer and boo along with the audience . . . .

The world deserves a punch in the face. You realize that every time somebody does something inane beyond belief, a person loses their home? Well, the homeless population has just tripled.

Thank you, brain-dead celebrities, unpolitically correct politicians . . .

Uncanny! It's almost as if you already knew her! Some teenagers these days just flat-out piss me off, and I'm generally a non-cantankerous kinda guy.

Speaking of politics, anybody been following the CNN-YouTube debates? Those are pretty entertaining. Case in point:

To Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois: Are you black enough? "You know, when I'm catching a cab in Manhattan ... I'm giving my credentials," he replied.

To Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York: Are you feminine enough? "I couldn't run as anything other than a woman."

Psycho bitch talking to me that says she "loves" me (who I have not seen, let alone been out with or wish any sort of romantic fling) says that she likes to hurt herself. I thought she was joking about being prone to injuries, but apparently she really likes to hurt herself. Sh*t happens! What can I do about some dim-witted 18yo w/masochistic tendencies and delusioins of love?

So far, my favorite possible question would be:

As one who has been on the front of cutting, here's everything a parent needs to know.

Most kids who do it think it's the current trend, or its "cool." There's actually a very small percent who do it for the right reasons. Now, most parents think they can do something about it, but in reality, they make it worse. Most parents grew up back when cutting was unknown, so they have no idea what the child is feeling. The best person who can help the 'cutter' is their closest friends. Even though many parents will disagree, I have seen what a few days of talking with a good friend can do next to months of therapy. Even though they do care, parents just cannot do what a friend can.

In situations like that, you have to leave it to someone the child's age. Adults dont tend to treat the child with the same emasure of equality as their friend would. That's the biggest barrier.

Exactly. Another thing they don't understand is when they put their child in rehab for "treatment," it actually scares them more and makes them more depressed.

Every time I accidentally cut myself I think "wow, not bad". I mean I can understand why some would be able to actually enjoy a certain amount of pain. But then again an arm full of cuts is not necessarily helpful with my target group of girls. Claw marks all over my body, however, are. And they feel good, too. No, no, Jae, my mind's in a perfect condition. And except that one thing I would not want to change anything in my past life.

I wholeheartedly agree with Ray about the claw marks. And Eric, I'm a first-year sophomore (placed out of 40 hours worth of coursework), do I still have to go comatose? If so, you better supply an attractive nurse to fawn over my vegetative being and to eventually develop an unhealthy obsession that takes a turn for the sensual.
