Hi, i used to love this game when i was like seven or eight (albeit with a lot of help from my dad) and I want to play it again. Obviously it has problems on XP so i followed the instructons ont this link:
http://www.mcwalter.org/tentacle/xp/)

But after a few minutes of playing my PC just suddenly switches off. Can anybody help?

Not sure why that's happening, but I suggest you forget about the old DOS executable, and use ScummVM to play it instead.

Yes, you can save under scumm VM, but it has it's own save key / function. Don't use the game's save button.

Does the problem persist when you're not using VDMSound (the only difference should be that there's no music/sound without VDMSound)?

It should never make your computer crash... especially XP. It's possible it's overheating.

ScummVM works fine. Just save by pressing F5 as usual.
