Do Mp3's work as background sounds or only as waves or midis? If so, how would I convert an Mp3 into a wave?

MP3's don't really work, unless you were to force your visitors to download some plug-ins (and I'm not sure if there are any plug-ins for it).

You can easily convert an MP3 to WAV just using WinAmp... Right click on WinAmp's main window, and choose "Preferences" from the "Options" menu. Look for "Output" in the "Plug-ins" section, and choose "Nullsoft Disk Writer plug-in"; you can click on the "Configure" button below to set where you want to store the converted WAV file. Click on the "Close" button when you're done, and then open the file you want to convert, and just hit "Play." You'll have a WAV file sitting in the directory you specified.. Though it will probably be VERY big (1 minute is usally about 10 megs, if the file is CD quality).

Change WinAmp back to using "Nullsoft waveOut plug-in" when you're done converting, and you can use WinAmp to listen to MP3's again.

Personally, I would suggest that you convert the file to either RealAudio or Windows Media format if you want to use it for the web. Do a search for converting software from SoftSeek (http://www.softseek.com/) or C|Net (http://www.download.com/), and you should be able to find what you're looking for.
