LUCASARTS SECURES FIVE NOMINATIONS IN THE AIAS ANNUAL AWARDS (http://www.lucasarts.com/company/release/news20070125.html)

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- January 25, 2007 -- Two LucasArts titles were nominated this week in the 10th annual Interactive Achievement Awards, handed out by the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences.

LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy was nominated in three categories: "Outstanding Achievement in Animation," "Outstanding Character Performance - Male," and "Family Game of the Year." Star Wars: Empire at War was nominated in the "Strategy Game of the Year" category. A big congratulations goes out to the development studios of Traveller's Tales (LEGO) and Petroglyph (EAW), along with the LucasArts production staff for their outstanding work on these games. Winners will be announced at a ceremony during AIAS' D.I.C.E. Summit in Las Vegas February 8th.

Yes. Seems like Lego Star Wars II got a lot of awards from various organizations but unfortunately LucasArts didn't come away with any wins from the 10th Annual AIAS Awards (http://www.interactive.org/content/pdf/AIAS_10th_IAAs_WINNNERS.pdf) this year. I thought Lego Star Wars II was a shoe-in for "Family Game of the Year" but Guitar Hero 2 snagged that one.
