I recently started a new game in TSL. My game has a ton of mods in it as well as general bug fixes and such and I like it that way (the USM especially), but in my game it seems some file in the Override folder is causing character dialog and event triggers to not occur when they should. It has happened four times so far (and the only thing I can do, without removing one mod at a time, is to remove the override folder then load the game from where I was just before the it messed up then play through the event then save, quit and replace the override folder). So, the first thing was that on Peragus the Harbinger doesn't arrive/Atton doesn't talk to me when I am out on the outside of the asteroid with the space suit and such. Once I took out the override folder it worked. Then when I first entered the Harbinger I didn't get the discussion between Kreia and Atton on what to do that is the introduction to the influence system in the game. The third thing is that on the Harbinger when you go up to the room that was The Exile's there is some dialog that plays through, nothing major, but it didn't happen. Once again, removing the override fixed the problem. The fourth thing was that Darth Scion never showed up to battle Kreia when he was supposed to. She just staying in my party and I could get to the place where the exile is supposed to feel her hand chopped off, nothing happened.
So, my question is: does anyone know what type of file (the extension type would be useful) would cause something like this? I know it is from one of the mods I've installed but I can't figure out which one it is because as far as I know none of them effect the sort of thing that is being effected (at least they aren't supposed to effect the events).
Not off-hand. Could you list the mods you are using? Also, did any mods contain files which had the same names?
It could be a trigger template (*.UTT) with a non-unique name that one mod has put in the override folder. Triggers are notoriously similarly named in different modules, even though they have different scripts and settings.
Sounds like the problem occurs at times you are supposed to trip a trigger that initiates conversation.

Like I said, there are quite a few, so here's a picture of the folder that has all the .zip/.rar/whatever downloaded files that I have. As far as I know (unless I missed one while extracting them) they have all been put into the game.

Hmm...It might be the Dark Apprentice...that's the most likely one I can think of which would do that...I suggest removing any .utt files in your override, and see what happens for the moment. Ensure you have a backup save from before you do that, though.

alright, thanks.
I hope you didn't really "remove" the Override by cutting and pasting - just renaming into something else will do! (Don't worry if you haven't, I'm just saying this because some people have actually reported doing it. o_O )

well actually, yes, that was what I was doing. I seemed to be working fine too. I just cut it and then pasted it into the LucasArts where I just would drag it back into the KOTOR2 folder, though your way is slightly easier (and the much more intelligent way).

I hope you're not offended, I didn't mean to slight you or anything!
I have a huge Override folder myself, and many mods will conflict with what I have in there. So what I always do when I want to install a new mod is to rename the old Override, then put the mod in a new folder so I can see what gets created, then make the necessary changes to merge my desired mods.
I hope this helps you for future installation of mods! :)

oh, no, not offended at all, sorry if it came off that way. You do have quite a bit more organization about your mod usage than I do though, which if I took up your method, probably would help with future mod conflicts.
