:) :fett:
I am very new to the Real Time Strategy games and I downloaded GB and it is awesome! I was able to get through the demo by just pretty much wiping out the rebels and facilities. I would like to be able to do more like establishing garrisons and creating power cores and having more mechs has well. Is there a site that specific steps on how to do all this? Can someone provide with some detailed info? I did discover the option of moving the troops into different strategic marching like the box etc. Can you create Sith in the demo? (I'm just a rookie! Need help!)
The best thing for you to do to learn GB is download the Age Of Kings demo from microsoft.com.
They have an excellent training campaign, and since GB is based on the AoK engine, it's pretty much the same thing.
And welcome to the GB forums! Your gift basket is on it's way :D

Yah if you have 56k you might not want to do that, but if you have high speed it an excellent way to learn!:)
Yup, play the Age demo to get the basics, and take a look both on Gamespots coverage of BG plus these forums of course ;)
to get some info straight on BG
Com Raven
AoK is an excellent game and i recomend getting it, but not without the conquerors, because it WILL teach you pretty much EVERYTHING on how to play GB with the exception of air units and powercores.
Think AoK with Star Wars and youll be right
Yah its pretty much an AOKproffesionally made mod with air units and sheilds. Ahh theres a couple more things but go with the demo. GO NOWW!!!!:)
Yeah, u might even want to buy both SW: GB and AoE after u see the awesome gameplay.;)
AOK is better and has less bugs:) I like them both though.
Yeah, I agree, luke. As soon as I get GB I'm going to save for AoK:TC. The game looks wicked ;)
Its a really good game:) I cant wait for AOM. Its going to be sweet!
You have a CD Burner? you should send me a copy ;)
lol, Its not illegal if you destroy it within 24 hours.:D I was reading through the copy right stuff and I found all of that in there somewhere.:p
Yeah, well it's not illegal if no one else knows about it either :)

Welcome to the boards mkruzel
Here ya go! *throws mkruzel an official GB.com giftbasket* Enjoy!
Anyways, you should really try the multi-player side of the GB demo. There are plenty of people who will play with you and just let you get to know the units and buildings etc. I will play you sometime if you want, but not right now.

Thanks for all the wonderful responses. I will try the Age of Kings demo. I had Zeus789 help me this morning at gamespy.com and tonight someone else elevated my skills. I will keep practicing and can't wait for Nov 13. Thanks for my gift basket.
yes, welcome mkruzel to these boards. actually, if you can afford it, i'd get both TC and AoK while you're at it. TC adds important gameplay changes to AoK, but if you cant' d/l the demo is fine. it's also a great tutorial for swgb since most of the gameplay is the same (formations, resource techniques, etc).
like tie said, try the multiplayer on swgb, you'll like it a lot!
TC=the conquerors, one of the best expansions if not the best i have ever played. it allows you to garrison units inside vehicles such as battering rams, your workers become smarter, and there are 5 new civs (my favs. being the mayans and aztecs)...
