I have this huge disagreement with a friend of mine about how many Ion Cannons are on a Star Destroyer. I say there are 60, while he doesn't think there are any. The question was first posted in a question to the magazine PC Gamer. I was just hoping you guys could settle this

There ARE ion cannons on an ImpStar, and I think 60 is correct.

What do you mean you depressed the button marked 'destruct'?
60 ions is what the stats say, though I don't think there are any on them in the X-wing games.

Yes, they are included on SD's in XWA. I was playing a skirmish and one tryed to disable me.

Then why don't they show up in the target component list? Do they come out of the same guns as lasers?

I don't need a fancy title. I'm better than you and you know it--Radivil Shestoi, Pilot of Gundam 006 DemonHawk to Duo Maxwell
in the XWA and all of the X-wing series. A turret (Capital ship hard point) is a duel role cannon, it can fire both TurboLasers, and Ions. but it only fires Ions when it is mission specific
the WEG Imp scorcebook states that a ISD-I has 60 Turbo Lasers (20 front, 15 left and right, 10 back) 60 Ion cannons (20 front, 15 left and right, 10 Back)
The ISD-II has 50 Heavy Turbolasers Batteries (20 front, 15 left and right) 50 Heavy Turbolaser cannons (20 front, 10 left and right, 10 back) and 20 Ion cannons (10 front, 5 left and right)
Episode -9: Return of the Gunray.
