"Alright, enough with the puns ladies, we've got some serious business to do," Balrog said, his helmet covering the faint grin that spread across his face. At this Balrog looked over to Bella, then Tay, they were keeping on his wing well, he looked forward again, and with an upraised hand, he pointed forward indicating 'let's go'; with a push forward on the throttle he went speeding forward, the TIEs growing larger and closer by the second.
The TIEs definately noticed them, and started firing shots at them frantically, believing that the three A-Wings were playing chicken, and they didn't want to be on the receiving end. Green lasers flew past the small craft, one just barely missing Bora's cockpit. Balrog opened fire when they were only a couple yards away, one TIE exploded, another catching the debrie from it and sent careening in another direction. Balrog pulled up at the last second, coming within only a few feet of the nearest TIEs cockpit. He went up and up, then straightened out, going forward again.
Balrog looked behind him, he definately caught the TIE groups attention, seven of the bad boys were keeping on his tail as best they could. 'One bad thing about having a different paint job, the enemy always thinks you're important, and chases you' he thought to himself. Balrog veered left, the TIEs on his tail following him in a line. From someone elses perspective it almost looked like an air show, or a family of ducks, only the ducklings were firing superheated bolts of energy at their mom!
"Hm, for rookies, these guys are good, they must not be common clone issue pilots," he mumbled to himself. He did a barrel roll and maneuvered diagnally down-leftward, only it looked like up-leftward from his point of view. He then straightened up suddenly, going back in the Mothma's Arrow's general direction, but he was upside down. He then flipped upright, at that his fighter shook violently, "ah, great, they're still on me," he said annoyed. Five had kept up well, two had been thrown off, but were still after him, and were coming up on his left.
"Uh, Bell, Midget, these guys don't seem to get a point, could any one of you two try to get these guys off my tail if you're not too busy," he said calmly, checking out into space, to see if he could see them...he didn't. "You two! Great, I gave orders to stay close, what do I get? Humph," he said frustrated.
Balrog felt another laser hit his craft, 'I just got the thing waxed and polished, great!' He thought to himself. He veered left, heading for the two TIEs coming at him, he opened fire, one of the two bursting into flames. The other one opening fire, the shot hitting his cockpit, luckily his shields were still strong enough to withstand the shot, but he saw the glass crack at the impact. He quickly checked his suit to see if it was pressure tight, lucky for him it was, but Rebel flight suits didn't last as long in space as Imperial ones did, because of the fact that Rebels used life support.
He veered right, the TIE that shot him colliding with one of the ones following him. Four still clung to him like leeches, they started opening up on him, green lasers flying past him, coming from behind. 'Uh oh, I made them angry' he thought, swiveling his head to get a look behind him, at this he saw a laser hit the area between the two large engines of the A-Wing. The shields dissapated, 'yep, they're angry' he thought darkly.
At this he looked forward, he was surprised, he had gotten really close to Mothma's Arrow, the ship looming closer. Two of the TIEs decided to cut him off, they went soaring from behind him to his left, making a half-circle loop back towards him. Balrog checked his engine statis, half capacity, meaning he was slower than them now, lucky for him Balrog had flown in bombers before, and had learned how to be patient with slower weaker craft. He pressed and held down a button on the top of his 'Joy Stick', he waited till he heard the beep, then let go, the concussion missile soaring out of his A-Wing towards one of the two TIEs, making contact it burst through the cockpit, killing the pilot, but it didn't go off.
"A dud, of all the things, a dud," he said, dumbfounded. The TIE slowed to a stop, the other one maneuvering to get out of the dissabled TIEs way, but it clipped the right wing of the dissabled TIE, and went careening, it slowed down, and soon was flying again, it made the intention of turning back towards him, but suddenly it went black, one of the panels on the ship blew out, smoking, the ship had went dead, how he wasn't sure, probably one of the cables connecting to it's power had been knocked loose.
It was still gliding, and the pilot was still alive, he could barely be seen trying to direct the TIE upwards, because he was on a collision course for the Mothma's Arrow. The TIE was going slow enough, that the it didn't explode on the surface of the ship when it hit, but went skidding roughly for awhile, before coming to a rest on the surface of the carrier vessel.
Balrog had gotten so caught up in watching this happen, that he forgot about the other two TIEs on his tail, he felt another shake that broke him out of his distraction. Then he felt a second shake, and heard a very bad sound, the engines stopping, another bad thing, he was aiming straight for Mothma's Arrow. Woah, deja vous? He thought to himself as he attempted to guide the A-Wing upward, but to his dissmay he hit the surface of the Mothma's Arrow, with a painful jerk, and a ear piercing shriek went through the ship as it skidded on the hull of the ship. Then it came to a halt, 'okay, I'm alive, that's good, but for how long, I don't know. Lucky for me the Mothma's Arrow's shields are down because it's being repaired' he thought, relieved that he'd survived the endevore.
The two TIEs swooped around a bit, checking if he was still kicking, he slumped in his seat, so as to make them think he was dead, yet again he was lucky, and they believed he was dead, and flew off, obviously to harass one of the others. He got back up in his seat, checked his life support, quarter capacity, and failing. He hooked his suit up so that he had his life support on, then turned the power off to his ship, so the ship's life support wouldn't fail. He checked the gauge on his suits life support, it read full, but considering it was a Rebel flight suit, it wouldn't stay that way for any long period of time.
He opened the canopy of his cockpit, what little bit of air was left in the ship, getting sucked out. He hopped out onto the suface of the Mothma's Arrow, he looked around, it was kinda funny being on the outside. He saw the TIE Fighter, it was still intact, and it was only partially damaged, one of the cables in it's blown open panel was unlatched, that was all that kept it from flying. Another thing was that it had a spare Imperial flight suit, which were meant for long periods in space, and had supierior life supports. He bounded across the distance from his A-Wing to the TIE Fighter, he clambered onto it's top, and with enough effort, he pryed the hatch loose.
The pilot lay unconcious in his seat, Bora slipped inside rumaging around in the different compact compartments on the fighter, until he came across the spare suit. At this he got out of the TIE, and bounded back to his A-Wing, closing the cockpit, he activated life support, waiting for the ship to fill with air. Soon he had changed suits, folding his Rebel flight suit up, and putting it under his arm, he slipped his helmet back on, and hooked up the life support tubes. At this he turned the ship off again, and headed back to the TIE, he went inside, and slipped his Rebel flight suit in where the Imperial flight suit had been, and closed the compartment. He made sure that the TIE's ignition wasn't on, and went outside, tinkering with the cable for a bit.
"By the time I'm done, the fight will be over," he said to himself as he finally rehooked the cable, and shoved it inside the open panel, then he made sure it was entirely secure, so it wouldn't come dangling loose while he was in flight. He slipped inside the TIE once more and threw the unconcious pilot into the cramped space behind the pilots seat, closing the cockpit hatch, and strapping himself into the seat. He rubbed the console of the TIE Fighter, that old feeling coming back to his mind, he smiled to himself.
He ignited the TIE's engines, that old but familiar roaring sound of the TIE's engines filling his helmet. His heart leapt within him, it was exhilerating being back inside a TIE Fighter again. He gently pulled upward on the 'Joy Stick', and pushed the throttle forward, sending the Imperial Fighter craft upward, and forward, back into space. Okay, well, I hope my wingmates don't blow me out of the sky before I can contact them' he thought to himself, as he directed the TIE Fighter towards the nearest A-Wing, that wasn't too busy fighting. He saw some TIEs coming towards it, and decided to test the weapons, he opened fire, the bolts going randomly in the general direction of the Fighters. He straightened his aim, and opened fire again, the accuracy of the twin bolts streaming out at high speeds hitting two TIEs, causing them to burst into flames. "Oh yeah! Now to figure out how to change communication channels so I can talkto whoever's in that A-Wing," he said to himself. The TIE Fighter getting closer to the A-Wing as he tinkered with the comm console....
((Sorry for the really, really, really, lllllooooonnnnngggg, post, I just had the sudden urge to post something this long. Again, sorry!))
X-Ray Watched the A-Wings speed forward and noticed that Balrog had managed to do the set task, Although he seemed to have a problem with working with his squad. 'Damn Hotdog, Gotta be the hero' he thought as he continued to escort the Y-wings Forward. The TIEs that weren't distracted by the A-Wings had continued heading towards the Ys.
"Scoundral, get ready to break formation and take down the eye-balls." Xander continued to watch the twelve Enemy Fighters to come forward until they were just in weapons range. "Break, Break, Break!"
X-Ray's engines ignighted as his X-Wing sped forward towards the oncoming TIEs, His cannons began to fire two at a time. He shot the leading fighter dead on instantly destroying the fighter and causing his wingmen to break off, 4 broke off to the port, 5 to the starboard and 2 Dived down. "Scoundral go Starboard, I'll take the port... Reaper get ready you have two incoming. Thunder Squadron you are clear!"
X-Ray turned his ship to pursue the four fighters that had broken off, He had managed to get behind them. "This'll be easy." He said to himself openeing fire on them, He hit two of them in the engine and continued to fly through the explosions. After clearing the fire he had lost sight with the other two fighters, looking around he saw that one of them was flying paralell with him. He cut his engines and shaot a small reverse engine burst to stop his momentum and get behind this fighter as well. Another single burst from his cannons quickly ended the pilots lifespan.
A green energy hot flew past his cackpit from behind him, The last tie had got behind him. 'Oh never get on my bad side.' He said as he quickly cut his engines again and fired his front vetral thrusters, This caused him to spin 180 degrees while continuing to move forward. He shot one last blast and took out the TIE.
He checked his scanners and saw That Balrog was heading strait towards Mothma's arrow with a bunch of TIEs on his tale. 'we're suppose to protecting the ship and he leads them strait to it.' He thought.
