When fixing BFII to run on my PC I followed the advice of switching the sound off and of course...the game worked. I think many of us have been there.

But I did a few tests and found that making the sound work in software mode let the game work too! It was just the hardware sound it didn't like.

So if you are currently playing with no sound...give it a go!
