I just bought JA, and immediately downloaded the "Siege Destroyer" map. What I really want to do is fly around the Star Destroyer and "film" beauty shots of it with Fraps. But I'm stuck in "spectator" mode, and can't join the game no matter what I do.

Can this map be played solo? If not, is there a way to disable the text onscreen that says "Waiting for players" and "Spectator mode" ?

I haven't tried it but open the console and type /devmap siege_destroyer (or whatever the map name is). Otherwise start your game with a single bot.

Yeah, try doing this:

/addbot desann

You can add other bots, but without any bots or other players you can't play in siege mode.

You could also try /cg_draw2d 0 to disable all of the hud and /cg_draw2d 1 to turn it back on.
