WARNING: Couldn't allocate IP port

I keep getting this error when I do net_restart when I have set net_ip and net_port to the correct numbers. It is my router because it works just fine without it. I tried everything from opening range of ports to opening specific ports to opening (well trying) to open ports of the public IP address (WAN IP at whatismyip.com). My router is a Netgear RP114. Hopefully someone could help me, greatly appreciated, thanks in advance guys. (My guess is that somehow you have to open the ports for the public IP, but I don't seem to know that, and yes I have tried putting DMZ on my internal IP address and on the external IP address aka Public IP address).
