The Official Simpsons Thread
So no one ever has to hear another word about the Simpsons from me in another thread ever again,

The only things I ask of you is to have fun and contribute positiviely to this topic.

Quote of the Day
Grandpa: My Homer is not a communist. He may be a liar, a pig, an idiot, a communist, but he is not a porn star.

I think my favorite comes from KB as well.
Kent Brockman:Thanks to Old Springfield, we'll all be taking Golden Showers now!"
Crowd: Laughs
Kent Brockman: What? What?

Crappy episode but I laughed my ass off. Golden Showers. How crazy can you get.

Well now that I won't be making a double post I'm going to post my long ass complaints about the Simpsons.

Cheerio!

Also I think I may know where Springfield is... not sure though:

We know it is by the sea and on the same shore as New York, considering it's less then a day's boatride away from the Statue of Liberty I think they're either in N.J., Virginia or N.C. As Lisa once said "It's obvious if you pay attention to the clues."

Klia's Long ass Complaint About Characteriziation

Simpsons Family

Homer Time has been the crulest to Homer. In early seasons such as season 1 and 2 we see him as a loving, caring, if not a bit lazy father/husband. He's not perfect, a little overweight and an alcholic but when it comes down to it, he'd give up everything for his family. This is most notably shown in Lisa's Pony where he takes up a job at the Kwik-E-Mart and the power plant to help pay for Lisa's pony. In later seasons though, we see him totally disrescpecting his family to the point where he would let them die, most notably in Kidney Trouble. Some agrue that it was just out of fear but the Homer that we all knew and loved was gone forever.

Lisa: Lisa has also suffered from repeated bad characterization. She's gone from a smart, intellignet, feeling, and loving young girl to a know-it-all who looks down on everybody (Lisa the Vegetarian).

Marge: Her character has been all over the place. She represents the mother trying to raise a perfect family yet resigned to the fact that her family will never be perfect and is a symbolism of feminism. However, the writers have moved away from writing her as such and create a one-dimensional outlook towards her family of always trying to change them.

Bart: His character has suffered the least. However he seems a bit more uncaring towards the world than before.

Go ahead. Skip over this post if need be. I'm going to write one up about Burns later as I feel he's changed the most. I realize that these aren't the most well-written and are crude but hey, I'm not writing a novel here.

I feel that Maggie has gotten a lot more, and in some ways a lot less, depth then most people realize. What started as a dumb joke of a character has become a slightly cocky, pop-culture imitating, manipulative brat.

Well she always was a pop-culture imitating brat as seen in Marge Vs Itchy and Scratchy. But for the most part she's stayed the same. The most drastic take on her though was in Who Shot Mr. Burns. Lately she hasn't done anything.

to find out where they live is one of my life's quests. Hertes one of the clues I discovered. Its more than 2000 miles from Orlando florida shown when principal skinner tried to to stop Krabappel from getting a teacher of the year award and took willys super cool spy car. He passed a sign saying Orlando florida 2??? miles away. In another episode homer went on a hunger strike to prove that the springfield Isotopes were going to move to albequerce. Right when he was about to give up, the team owner tried to give him a hotdog. Homer, with his intense knowledge of food, proved his point by showing the hotdog was filled with southwestern ingredients. This proves that their springfeild isn't in the south west and is 2??? miles away from Orlando florida.

But the weather. Also it's been shown that Springfield is a few minutes from Las Vegas in Old Money.

Attention: I just got the Bart, Homer, and Ralph book of the Simpsons Library of Wisdom. Ralph's is by far the best as they don't concentrate so much on character descriptions.

Yay, simpsons board!!! I will say this much, I love Sideshow Bob(Kelsey Grammer's only good role, since 3/4 people in the US are to dumb to understand Fraiser) more that my nail poilsh collection. He and I have so much in commen.

-Both love broadway
-Both want to kill a ten year old
-Both have been to jail
-We kinda have the same looking hair, except I look like that in the morning.
-Both have big feet
-Both plan on moving to Europe to escape the police and such.

"Attempted murder, now honestly, what is that? Do they give a Nobel Prize for attempted chemistry? " Like I said, Sideshow Bob rocks.

Personally, I don't like Sideshow Bob. Not that I can't appreciate Kelsey Grammer's acting which is superb, but I find the episodes overrated and a bit repitivive.

In the Simpsons you can't just have one favorite character. It's too hard.

Simpsons:Abe
Moe's Tavern: Moe
School:Edna
Power Plant:Classic Burns (he's **** now)
Townspeople:Herman
Misc:Lionel Hutz
Guest Star:Karl

Top 5:
Simpson and Delilah
Life on the Fast Lane
Homer's Enemy
Bart the General
Grade School Confidental.

To add to that, I even got the Road Rage game. *hangs head in shame*

I may have the only version of Do the Bartman on the internet. It took me about 4 months to find.

If it was rated higher? That would be scary. However that doesn't mean there isn't dirty **** on the Simpsons. Lately they've been saying orgies and the sexual humour has always been subtle. A non-subtle one would be the golden shower joke. I was so suprised to see that.

The plotlines would resemble that of South Park and the heartwarming moments wouldn't be so heartwarming. Not to mention it wouldn't be my everything show. (Every genre)

Bart would say more than hell and damn, Lisa would probably be an exageratted PETA member and fade outs on Homer and Marge would be nonexistant.

He was only funny when he hit Willie over the head with food.

It sounded way too much like Vendetta.

I didn't have too much fun watching the episode. Techinically it was solid and the pacing was not off, however I was just bored. No joke really stood out to me except for him hitting him over the head with food and what the hell was up with the nose swinging around joke?

What episode does that quote come from?

Did anybdoy watch the Seemingly Never Ending Story? AKA the New Story? And if so did anybody catch the gag about Smithers?

Well here's my review:

It may be the giddyness of watching a new episode that is talking but I think this is one of the best episodes after Season 17.

Lisa was back to her old self by staying back with Homer. The animation was amazing-even if Burns model seemed a bit off at some moments. The whole epsode felt ambitious as it was fast paced and showed different sides of a lot of characters, but it worked.

The jokes that I felt worked best was Burns with his relatives, Barney being thrown out of the bar, and how the dream sequences were played off well. But I felt a few missed their mark as well: the reasoning for Smithers being absent, the Texas OCD, and Burns taking photos with the kids.

I was totally absoultely suprised when Edna came off the bus and that she was dating Moe, yet it was interesting to see how optimistic and upbeat she was before she started teaching at the school. Moe was classic and I had absolutely no problems with him. To see Snake as a law-abiding citizen was nothing amazing but it did work for a few gags. Not to mention it was cool to see his son.

The gags were clever and kept on building, I was rolling on the floor at least twice during this episode. Brilliant!

And best of all-THE ENDING! The ending was wonderful, amazing, I loved it, could The Simpsons be peaking again-Mini-peaking?
