Whenever I attempt to install Empire at War (or uninstall the Demo, even), I recieve the following InstallShield error. It happens before the game even installs, during set-up.

Error Code: -5006 : 0x80070017
Error Information:
>SetupDLL\SetupDLL.cpp (1194)
pAPP:Star Wars Empire at War
PVENDOR:LucasArts
PGUID:99AE7207-8612-4DBA-A8F8-BAE5C633390D
$11.0.0.28844

Is there any way to fix this problem? The installshield site is no help. It just says to contact the person that coded the set-up.

I have the same problem with a slightly different code:

Error Code: -5004 : 0x80070005
Error Information:
>SetupDLL\SetupDLL.cpp (3078)
pAPP:Star Wars Empire at War
PVENDOR:LucasArts
PGUID:99AE7207-8612-4DBA-A8F8-BAE5C633390D
$11.0.0.28844
@Windows XP Service Pack 2 (2600) IE 6.0.2900.2180

I looked all over the internet and found only people with similar problems and no solutions...also, most replys in other forums about other games suggested it is an installer issue.

The only suggestion I can think of is make sure your version of windows is up to date and all your drivers are up to date.

Hmm, did you try to install the game whiel you still had the demo installed? In otherwords did you install the game and leave the demo be, and then attempt to uninstall the demo when you had the full version installed?

Found a solution for my problem...long story sort of...any way, for the original poster with the 5006 error, I have found through a lot of research that the error occurs when the temporary folder is too full, you can delete the contents of this folder and try again. You can find this folder usually on c:\windows\temp. Just delete the contents, no need to delete the folder itself. Let me know if this works.

I had that problem installing Civ 4 what I found that worked was to go and delete the runtime folder.

Its under C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional\RunTime

One of the files there are probaly currpted.
