Hy there, I hope not to bother anyone.
Does someone know about Star Trek ships converted to XWA? I allready have the Defiance and the Borg Cube. Allthough I have Rhino 3D I'm too stupid to use it to help myself out. I have allready found some ships, but only in 3ds. Every time I try to convert them to dfx, they chrash when I load them with Ace.

The Defiant and the Cubeship are it, I'm afraid.

I'd truly love to see more ST opts (especially some of the new ships from Star Trek: Invasion), but I have no opting skills to speak of. http://www.xwingalliance.com/forums/frown.gif)

I have had some attempts in taking a ST ship in to XWA, the Aero Flyer, still trying to figure out BunHex, but the opt is done. I woulkd like to put more ST in the game, but I need some help Im haveing a hard time learning Binhex. I have several St ships in wich I can turn to OPT, I just need some help with Binhex, or atleast how to use it, or the other ship stat editors.

Holy old thread!

The editor I have is BinHexEdit 98 (v0.5.25) from DemonSoft. I haven't used it in ages (and I can't activate it now 'cause apparently I'm missing a driver), but I recall that it is pretty user-friendly. There's probably an update around (it is a 98 program, after all), but I can't imagine what Demon would've added.

*looks around*
Hey, I still have the setup file! Cool. The readme says this is the first release.

The best way to learn Binhex is to look at some of the stats ingame. That'll give you a good frame of reference. Most fan-made opts come with .shp files that contain the Binhex data, and BHE98 comes with a demo.shp that can be used as a template.

I meant that some of the fields do not have what trhe corespond to, like on the 2nd tab, at the botom thir are a few numbers, I dont remember off hand, I dont have the program on the computer. I also ment makeing files for the ship, not pre made ones.

There might be something in the readme.

And again, look at the official files (i.e., the craft that came with the game), and you might be able to figure out where those variables fit.

IIRC, there's also a "save stats as .shp" command available in BHE.

I was looking up this stuff myself and here's the new link:

Unfortunately it looks like the links to the Romulan and Battlestar ships are down, but the others downloaded fine. Can't wait to try 'em out with the XWAUpgrade (Star Wars vs. Star Trek!)
