I want to make a mission in the good old X-Wing style. The player escorts a Corvette, then an ISD arrives and launches TIE Bombers.
The Bombers go after the corvette with torpedoes. However, even if I set the Corvette A.I. to rookie, all torpedoes are destroyed by the Corvette's lasers.
Is there any way to stop the Corvette from firing at torps? (I use the shareware version of Allied.)
I could set the Corvettes' status to "No lasers" but I want it to shoot at the Bombers when they are close enough.
Fair warning, it's been eons since I've toyed with any XWA editing, but:
Try setting the 'vette's orders to "Destroy all craft of type X" where X = TIE Bombers (or whatever enemy craft are likely to get close). Problem is, this could result in the ship going after the bombers rather than waiting for them to come to it. Make sure the waypoints are set.
Or possibly you could tell the ship to ignore certain craft (i.e., torpedoes).

"Do fish-people eat fish, or would that be like humans eating monkeys?"
"Humans do eat monkeys. In fact humans eat other humans. . . Y'know, as a species, we are really quite unpleasant."
Hmmm,
it doesn't seem to matter if I specify any targets for the Corvette at all or give it a specific order.
It still destroys the Bombers' torps and if I shoot torps myself, it will destroy them, too.
And as torps do not show up in the craft list, I have no idea how to tell the Corvette to ignore "torpedo craft" :-(
Any other ideas?

Try setting torps as being invulnerable.

How can I make the torps invulnerable?
I know how to make the Bombers that shoot the torps invulnerable, but that's not exactly what I want...
Maybe in the objects list?

this is just a test, leave it..
