I believe there was previously someone creating a program which allowed the creation of SCUMM games, but as far as I remember the project didn't get very far, and it's probably been abandoned by now.

But, there are many other freeware languages that give the same effect as SCUMM if you just want to create a LucasArts-style adventure game, such as SLUDGE (http://www.hungrysoftware.com), AGS (http://www.bigbluecup.com) and WinterMute (http://www.dead-code.org)

Hey thanks a lot. if anyone could help me out further with a tutorial for using these i'd really appreciate it. Also could you tell me which one is the best/easiest one to use?

No problem :). If you've never done any programming before, then AGS is probably the best to use, as it includes a no-coding editor. However, the other two are (in my opinion) more powerful... WinterMute even includes support for 3D (Monkey Island 4 or Grim Fandango style) adventure games. To learn how to use them, most of them feature a help file with the program, and tutorials etc. on the website.

So you'd suggest using AGS then when i have a basic grasp moving up to WinterMute?

P.S. do you have MSN? mine is themonkeyoverlord@hotmail.com

There is a free verion of Visionaire (http://www.visionaire-online.de/index.php?newlang=english). They put together a demo (http://www.visionaire-online.de/modules.php?name=VisDownload&op=demogame) that shows some of the features and a CMI-style interface.
