I've just finished playing a mission I made which was about a large scale battle between Rebel and Imp fleets. I'd like to know why two Mon Cal cruisers could sit about a click away from an ISD II and miss it with every shot. Each time they fired it passed over the top of the ISD, across the raised section midway down the hull. I sat and watched them for 5 minutes and they didn't hit it once. Why the hell does this happen???
Tsk, tsk, tsk, It's Mon Calamari ale.
It may have to do with the AI skill level the ships are set at, I know that in our missions they have no problems hitting the enemy, (AI set as 'Ace').

Thanks, I'll try that, but I've also noticed it only happens when the cruisers are on roughly the same vertical level as the SD's. If they are either above or below they can hit it fine. Silly gunners

Just checked what skill level I had set - all the cruisers that were doing it were Top Ace

It's because AI capships shoot at the point where opts are centered, and the ISD is centered a ways above the hull. That's also why fighters sometimes fly thru the hulls of some added capships, they are shooting at the opt center. That can be remedied for fighters if you have them shoot at another mesh type other that "main hull" a 0 or 1. I'm not sure if capships can shoot at mesh types.
Doesn't seem to let you in AlliED, which is a bit annoying. Oh well.
