Hey TK421, this one is very good. But i dont like the texture. Some other would be better.

And i have check around a bit in search of skyhooks. I have darksabers Emperor's Fortress. It's a good Opt but i think it's too "Emperor like" but you may get some ideas for a skyhook. You can find it on my page or at darksabers page. You have my site?

It's...not very threatening-looking, it sort of looks like a light sports-plane. (Not to denegrate your modelling efforts).

In the 1st shot the textures look crappy, but in game when you zoom in they sharpen up really nicely, besides when it's zoomin around you don't get much chance to appreciate the scenery, you're too busy trying to save your ass! I thought the shark teeth were a nice touch, here is a better pic.

It's threatening enough when that rapid-fire cannon opens up on you! There are 3 Rebel guns in the one spot, which gives a very nice amount of firepower and awesome refire rate, almost a continous beam.

Aw darn I forgot to resize that one.

Ho hum, damn textures. In ACE they look quite good, all nicely shaded and detailed - heck in ACE you can pick out the small bolts I put on some parts.

I like angular / mechanical / functional sort of looks rather than nice smooth flowing shapes and my OPTs will reflect that(in other words ISD = cool , Calamari CRS = piece of crap).

As they say on the Massassi forums: leet!

You do plan on releasing it, right?

P.S. That idea for a continuous beam sounds really cool (Phasers/fusion beam/Aing-Tii energy beam).

Aing-Tii? Leet?

I tried making the same sort of continuous beam on my previous StarGazer, but the AI seems to want to fire several gun-zones at once, giving the standard wave of fire like other capital ships instead of firing one gun-zone with the beam-like appearance.

Yes I'm going to release it. Actually I'm just gonna a make a few posts to keep upto date then I'm going to work on my site.

Well, ill say it, GOOD JOB.... What programs are you using to create your opts? And where could they be downloaded?
Again way to go.

Hows about a Tie Fighter that looks "more" like the one Vader flies?! That would be cool. http://www.xwingalliance.com/forums/biggrin.gif)

Thank's Zedran http://www.xwingalliance.com/forums/smile.gif)

I use 3D Studio Max, which is not the best tool to do OPTs, but its all Ive got. A good CAD program and a good understanding of ACE_DXF you can build almost anything.

Vader's Tie Avenger/x1 has been around for quite some time, I used to use it in XvT. Not sure who did it, try DarkSaber or one of the other sites.

You can download my 1st ship at the link in my signature. I'm re-building the site right now, I just came online to get the URLs of a couple of sites.
