I'm looking for some MDL files. Does anybody have a listing of what MDL file each item uses? I'm looking for all the Armor, Calo Nord's specifically. And where can it be found in the KOTOR tool?

I don't know if this is correct, but I'm pretty sure that the .utc of an item has a field labeled modelvariation or something similar, I think that might be what you're looking for.

Using KotOR Tool (http://kotortool.home.comcast.net/index.html):

Kotor I > BIFs > models.bif > Aurora Model > n_calonord.mdl

Also,

Kotor I > BIFs > models.bif > Aurora Model Extension > n_calonord.mdx

For the other types of armor, it will depend on what and which PC/NPC you need the model for. Try these other directories as well.

Most of these can be found by looking at your appearance.2da file under the texa - texj & modela - modelj columns.

Be sure to grab the appropriate .mdx file for the model as well located in the Aurora Model Extension directory

Kotor I > BIFs > party.bif > Aurora Model > "your choice"

Kotor I > BIFs > player.bif > Aurora Model > "your choice"

Kotor I > BIFs > items.bif > Aurora Model > "see below"
Robes = a_jedirobe_001 - 003
Armor = gi_armor01 - 04
More Armor = the entries starting with "p" (ie. pfbcm.mdl, pmbcl.mdl, etc.)

Again, be sure to grab the corresponding .mdx file located in the same directories as above, but using Aurora Model Extension rather than just Aurora Model

These 2 threads will also help you tremendously:

I can't find it. I found Calo Nord, but he has that ugly fabric over the armor. I found a whole bunch of UTI files too, but I don't know what to do with them. Can someone email me the correct MDL files to PM Me Please.

Sarthos, Please read the Holowan Labs Forum Rules & Etiquette Thread (http://64.20.36.211/showthread.php?t=127725) as posting email addresses here is verboten, thanks. -RH

Can someone please send me a message? I need help.

Sarthos, Once again I urge you to take the time and read the Holowan Labs Forum Rules & Etiquette Thread (http://64.20.36.211/showthread.php?t=127725) as 'bumping' threads here is also verboten. This is what you have done here.

I realise you are new around here, but you really need to follow the Forum Rules. -RH

*.mdl files don't contain the skin itself, you'll need to find Calo Nord's *.tpc file and extract it as a Targa file (which KT does automatically). Check this for more info (http://lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=126482) as to what file it is.

would someone please just tell me the texture, the one that it looks like in-game, when you're wearing it, not the lousy one with the fabric on it? That's all I'm looking for.

It was in the thread I gave you a link to, if you had read it, you'd know it's PFBG05 for females, and PMBG05 for males.

Thanks. But what armor do I use the texture on?

And does it have the fabric? Because I don't want that...

Just edit the texture and it will automatically show up on the armor model. And no, it doesn't have the fabric, as long as by 'fabric' you mean Calo's clothes that he wears over the armor (blue coat, ect.).

on what armor model though? They all appear just blue if I apply the texture. Unless there's a specific one I should use?

If you edited the texture, saved it as a Targa (*.tga) image, and placed it in your 'Override' folder it should have been applied to the correct model automatically.

You have to install mods for them to work. Check this thread (http://lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=143422) for how to do so.

I'm using the models for use in "Gmax" for mods for another SW game.

^^^^
Then you'll have to apply the material in gmax's material editor. I use 3Ds Max 7, so I can't help you with applying the texture in gmax.

Sorry but I have to close this thread. Discussions about porting assests from one game to another (it's not only between Kotor and TSL) are prohibited on these boards.
