Ahhhhh. Hmm, well if gametap did pick it up, thatd be really neat. I'm not sure if there is that much of a demand out there for it. Maybe Cartoon Network should do it for Adult Swim. Look what it did for the popularity of Family Guy and Futurama. The humor is in the same vein, and it would be better then alot of other crap they've been showing recently.
I hope Sam & Max doesn't get put on Adult Swim. It's exclusive right now and doesn't need the moronic fanbase/opinions of Cartoon Network. It's just like when 13 year olds yell "I'm Rick James bitch!"...You don't want that happening to Sam & Max do you?
Well if you are referring to getting the TV show back on the air, I don't think it had much going for it to being with to start a bandwagon with anyone at all.

Yeah I don't see them doing it ever. It was just a thought of mine.
Gametap does have the Cartoon Network channel streaming for members and they also have a couple of anime TV shows with more episodes available each week.
I wouldn't mind if Sam and Max got popular if it meant a steady stream of content. We could still be elitist for having liked the duo way longer than everybody else.
True. I still can't beileve they got a show in the first place. I remember being so pysched for the first episode, and getting up early Saturday to watch it.
I like Family Guy too, and I sort of don't mind all the attention it's gotten by idiots. Sure, it gets annoying at times, but it's nice to see something get the attention it deserves. Hell, Futurama has yet to be invaded by idiots. And because of the exposure it got, we're finally getting more episodes. It might work the same for S&M too.
But yea, I know the chances of it ever getting picked up again or pretty much slim to none.
No Family Guy is drivel. If you watch it and enjoy it, you are either not paying attention or are generally stupid.
And this is fact. Ask an animator. A real animator too, not an aspiring one, so count me out.
And I'd like to add that we could never be elitists, because elitists are all fakes.
I thought I was the only one who thought Family Guy was stupid...thanks for coming out of the closet; you're a bigger inspiration to me than Lance Bass.
I am Lance Bass. My man bulge is gnarly.
I am Doctor Gonzo, throw it in the tub!
Tell him to put down that Loathing book he checked out, Itchy.
Well I also checked out "The Satanic Verses" by Salman Rushdie, Brushguy would explode if he saw this thing.
Drop the gun, Samnmax! I don't care how much you don't like Mondays!
Heh, Salman Rushdie gets enough death threats to balance out how many Sean gives. Yes, that's how the world works. Learn to live with it.
I tried copying the design since I loved it so much. Obviously it's not exactly the same because it's a different program and I couldn't get the animated page turns sadly but it's decent. I couldn't fit all the epsiodes on one disc too. I still have a third one to burn.
Bootlegging the bootlegs of others? That's not very nice.
Homage?
Hey, I forgot by now, but am I right when I'm thinking neither Laserschwert or the other bootlegger was able to get the episodes and shorts not available on tape on their DVD?
Because if you guys could get the "lost episodes" on tape, I'd buy that ****.
I have Christmas Bloody Christmas, Glazed Mcguffin and A glitch in Time
I think Aiiiee robot was on tape too, but yeah, I have that also.
Freelance Police episodes are coming to Gametap. See my post here:

Yeah, but given that GamtapTV is just a broadband-video service, I assume the video quality wouldn't be much better than YouTube. So even if those suckers were available outside of the US, I wouldn't PAY for a lousy video-stream.
We want an official DVD-release!!!!! Well... I do.
I'd buy it. And with those three words on the Internet, I am guaranteed to have a profound effect on the financial decisions of a major company.

Judging from the screen caps posted I think it would be alot better then the youtube versions. Maybe not DVD quality, but still it wouldn't have the jpeg artifacts that plague most of the episodes online.
Also we'd get the rest of the missing episodes including Guffin and Christmas in much , much better quality.
I also agree for a official DVD release, even though I'm having an annoyingly fun time putting together one myself.
This may be the first step in a road to a DVD release. Lets hope people watch it, even just for the games sake.
There is some confusion now about the release date of this content on Gametap as well as if it is new, old, or a mix of both. Please read the updates to the Freelance Police thread.

Good news! Looks like the cartoon really is coming to Gametap:
http://www.gametapper.com/samandmax/)
"All-new Sam & Max animated shorts." My guess is CGI animation, right? Don't think they have the resources for traditional animation, but I could see flash as a possibility.
^ I've read the shorts will be machinima, if that helps you any. They will be made by Telltale.
Unfortunately, "machinima" has no meaning to me. Anyone know what he's talking about?
Machinima is a silly term coined by people who make short videos using in-game tools or mods on the game engine. The Sam & Max shorts will be really quick animated shorts put together by the Sam & Max dev team using in-engine tools. Basically the gaming equivilent of a newspaper comic strip.
Yes, Jake, since you have the inside-scoop, and they have made some sort of a press release, could you now clarify if we are getting both, the animated series, or just new machinima episodes from TellTale?

And Itchy, come on.. google before asking questions. And double shame on you for not know about Red vs. Blue by RoosterTeeth.
The line about the episodes at the link above has been removed. This could be bad news.
New trailer on Gametap specifically says the cartoon is coming! See video below:
Warning: May contain some puzzle spoilers.

Wow Banjo, you are really on top of things. Cool news.
From this week's Gametap newsletter:
"We're just days away from the October 17th world premiere of GameTap's first original game, Sam & Max: Season 1! Can't wait? Head over to GameTap TV on October 12th to watch the first episode of the Sam & Max cartoon series and on October 17th, watch the "Making of Sam & Max" before playing the first game episode. That's a great way to kick off the year of the dog (and rabbity -thing) as we roll out new Sam & Max content, including games, cartoons, and more every week for the next six months!"
As much as I want the TV series, I'm gonna stay telltale loyal. they're the ones making the game. I'm going to support them. Gametap seems like a clueless money hungry company that's just using Sam and Max as a new fad to make money.
That being said, if I was living in america I'd probably give in....
Well, whatever gets the TV series closer to a DVD release...
Well what do you know, TellTale links to Samandmax.net for an explanation of the Animated series. Use your own webspace bastards!
As much as I want the TV series,
Until and unless Gametap releases the unaired episodes, they're not offering anything that can't be seen on youtube in the same quality (albeit illegally).
Well I wouldn't count on many of the pirated YouTube videos sticking around much longer. Now that YouTube is owned by Google they are really going to be cracking down on that kind of stuff. They will even block your homemade video now if you have copyrighted music in it.
Who's afraid of the big bad lawyer?
Google plays it by the books. They are legit (

I know, I have a cousin who works for them.
That's cooler than my cousins, who would be the perfect supporting cast for a remake of Deliverance. This doesn't mean GameTap owns the rights to the tv series, right?
I really doubt it. Nelvana is probably just licensing the episodes. They still have the power to make the next big move.
Anybody able to make a few screenshots of the episodes at full size? I have the available VHS-tapes, and I'd like to know how the quality of those GameTap-streams holds up. Given that they'll (hopefully) show the episodes that are missing from the tapes as well, and they become "available" outside of the US someway or the other...
