Is it possible (in reality or in theory) to use modules from KOTOR in TSL mods or TSL in KOTOR?

No, but doing so would be illegal and any discussion about porting any resources from one game to another is against forum rules and would be closed or deleted.

@T7nowhere: I don't understand what you mean by "Illegal to porting?". Is this mean we cannot mod K1 (the original story/script/items/dialog) to be playable on K2 so that we can play K1 with K2 engine? And could you please tell me there reason? Just curious.

14. Mods containing assets (models, textures, sounds, etc.) ported from another game are prohibited NEW!
It is against Lucasarts policy to port assets from one game to another. Holowan Laboratories does not condone porting of this nature, and moderators will close or delete any thread or posts discussing such mods. The exception to this is if the asset in question is present in both KOTOR and TSL. Also, modders may create from scratch mods that resemble assets from another game.

@XA-R01 The above quote is from our Forum Rules and Etiquette (http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=127725) Please read through them.

The simple nitty gritty is If you port the resources for your personal use and do not discuss or release it on LucasForums thats fine.
