So i know my intel integrated graphics controller is too crappy to play Kotor2. I live in Holland and i have about 130-150 euros to spend. I thought I'd buy a Geforce 6600 or something, does anyone know of a particularly good videocard for this price?

well, if you go by a 1 USD = 1 Euro (and i know the Euro is worth more, so can it), you should be able to get the GeForce 6000 GT for less than 150 Euros really easy, depending on how hard to find they are where you're at. its a good card that'll last you a couple of years before you can't really take advantage of the latest and greatest graphics features that video games are bound to have by then.

just make sure you get the correct card for the type of slot your computer has. you'll need a PCI-Express16X slot in order to get the GF6600GT. if you have an AGP slot, go for the ATI Radeon X700 Pro. it'll give you comparable performance for about the same price.

hope that helps. ;)

1 Euro = 1.20 USD

I was just just looking at some prices on a French site and there are several ATI Radeon X800 GT around 150 Euro:

(Sapphire, ATI and HIS are the best brands for ati cards IMHO)

Note that the ldlc site has the x800GTO at 159 Euros which is note much more. It comes in PCI-e too and it's more powerful than the 6600gt. It's also pretty good if you want to overclock it. http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=28135)

Well, I've found a site that sells the radeon AX1600pro/TD at 135 euros, isn't the x1600 better than the x800?

The x800GTO has better performances than the x1600 Pro.

However, the x800gto does not support Shader Model 3.0 contrary to the x1600 pro but very few games take advantage of shader model 3.0 at the moment. Perhaps in the future it will have more uses but I wouldn't worry too much about it.
