So then, everyone here in the UK got a copy of the fabulously groovy game Psychonauts on Xbox or the brand spingly-spangly new DVD version for PC with 400% less disc swapping?
No?
What's that? It wasn't released on the 25th November as promised? But didn't Tim Schafer say it was out before the year's end? Didn't PCZone, the UK bastion of Psycho-related Magazine Fandom, practically demand that 25th Nov was made a public holiday and that they would be doing spot-checks at people's houses to make sure everyone had a copy?
Indeed, hasn't a new advert been doing the rounds stating proudly that the game would be out November, seen here:

So why is the new release date "March 2006, maybe"?
I'm more curious as to why they talk about Day of the Tentacle on the box. I mean, no one has ever heard of Day of the Tentacle. Is it there for aesthetic appeal only?
KotOR II was released for PC 2 months after it was for X-Box in the US. Maybe this is similar.

DotT was awesome. I beat it and it was totally cool.
At first I though the yellow and purple was too hideous but now I totally see how it fits.
it's yellow, werid and wtf

All very good questions, but I have a better one. Why not just buy the American version seeing as we live in an English speaking country anyway? (I'm assuming you already have).
Pyschonauts is a summer game, dammit, wandering around Whispering Rock when it was getting all light and hot outside was perfect and made the game even more special for me.
(For the record, I live in Scotland and have the Xbox version. Death to region locking.)
i know, it bites that i have to have the english version of kingdom hearts two when the japan version is already out.

Yeah, but it's one of those games that mainstream gamers won't know about (shamefully). And Lucasarts doesn't sell it anymore. Heck, it doesn't even have a section of the forums (neither does RTX Red Rock, but hey...).
i want to know more about it
ohh, then why is it on the poster?
That is the foxiest ad I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!
ohhhhhhh, awesome.
I'm still skeptical of the purple+yellow scheme.
yes, who knew such strange colors could come together to make such an excellent combination?

Well, I'm just saying it seems so un Psychonauts like. When I think of purple and yellow I think of basketball.

I think of bees.
I think of that one time my older cousin had a party and he made brownies......It was weird.
i think about my room getting clashed with my sisters room, freaky
The background make the guys look weird and Milla high.
hehehehe, milla high, man, my mom said i looked high when my hair was pink
You had pink hair? When I was in forst grade, my dad had blue hair and my teachers didn't believe me.
i had blonde, pink and purple hair in one day

Perhaps they had a problem with shipping the game towards stores, and the old date was when it was ready to be shipped.
I don't know what I'm talking about, do I?
I know. I know. Why don't the UK people just buy the game from ebay? It's like $6-20.
I'm more curious as to why they talk about Day of the Tentacle on the box. I mean, no one has ever heard of Day of the Tentacle. Is it there for aesthetic appeal only?
Many more people know and will recognize "Day of the Tentacle" and "Grim Fandango" than the name Tim Schafer. They would have been better off putting some game titles on the US box rather than only his name.

I think DoubleFine wants Tim Schafer's name to be a staple of their work, since he's the head of it. It's like LucasArts. By associating it with Day of the Tentacle and Grim Fandango (Games that DoubleFine did not produce) is not going to make a name for them.
Once again, this is coming out all wrong.

True. And even if they didn't know the games, "Day of the Tentacle" sounds pretty interesting as is. Same goes for Grim Fandango.
Yes, a day for a tentacle? What's next? A day for more cowbell?

Yeah well it didn't make any sales for them, either. I'm all for having Tim's name on the box, but also letting people know what games he made previously could only have helped.
Also I don't see how saying that he made DOTT and Grim is preventing Double Fine from making a name for themselves. That makes no sense at all to me. Even if not many people know what DOTT or Grim is, the people who do loved them, and many of those might be interested in buying another game made by the same guy. Just because you liked a game doesn't mean you know the guy who made it. Simply saying that it was a game made by Tim Schafer only meant something to the people who knew it already.
And you guys who never played Day of the Tentacle before, you need to. It's great.
Oh yeah and about the UK release. I guess all the money they spent towards advertising the game as a November release was a big waste.
I'm guessing the November release didn't go as planned...
that would bite to be in uk, i mean kingdom hearts 2 was to come out this month and now i have to wait until march of next year
HAHA! You're suffering! None of the games I want are delayed for release! in yo face! but still, it's sad peeps 'across the pond' have to wait for the glorious awesomeness that is Psychonauts.
poor uk
Think about it this way, games made in the UK go to them first.
However I don't know of any games from over there.
neither do i, i know a lot of japan games
I know some us games. Are there any German games? I know the russians have a game:Tetris.
no i'm not, i just didn't know that was russian
It isnt russian. It's turkish.
What?!?! I've been lied to!
No, see, it's actually from the Czech Republic.
I have a great uncle from czechoslovakia.
No, he's lying.
>>
Why wouldn't he have an uncle from Czechoslovakia? I think everyone should have one.
i don't and if i do then i don't know about it
