I'm playing the PC version of Psychonauts (in a word - awesome) and I'm curious about the apparent lack of ambient environment sound for the asylum exterior.

There is ambient sound inside the asylum courtyard (frogs, crickets etc.) but none in the exterior - it ends up sounding a little bit empty.

It's minor to be sure, but I was curious if it's possibly a bug with my system or if other people are experiencing the same thing with PC and/or XBOX versions.

Additionally, the beginning of Gloria's level didn't seem to have music but I'm assuming that was intentional...

Methinks the lack of ambience in the vicinity of the abandoned asylum was intentional. Contrast it to the campgrounds, which is teeming with life, you're practically stepping on squirrels, lizards, crickets, and waving birds out of your eyes.

I thought the ambience of the asylum in general was quite effective - it was supposed to be creepy, and I definitely had a sense of dread crawling about the upper asylum.
