is it just me, or do the rebels get those big tanks??? :D
thanx for the links DMUK. :D
Looking good, though some of the space battles (the ones with the A-wings) better be alpha shots.
These screens are from pre-alpha code

great screens, cant wait for more
thay look great, but i seen them alrady of cores. :)
Has anyone else noticed on the 13th screenshot there is a republic landing ship infront of that starbase on the right side half way up (or down). so why is this with all those star destroyers.
WoW those sCrn shots look really good.
Does pre-alpha mean too cartoony?
Cause, yeah.
But they do look pretty cool. Other than that.
wohooo screens :D
looks better and better
im going into hybernate until it comes i can't stand the presure O.o
Looks great, but I'm going to cry soon because I am 95% sure my PC won't be able to handle it... :(
Starmark2k, you're right there is a Republic Landing Ship in there. This leads me to believe, along with the presence of SPHA-Ts on the cover of the PC Zone magazine promotion, that the Empire will have some units that are "left over" from the Republic era. This is a good idea in my opinion.
The later screenshots look quite good and not as cartoony and alpha-ish as some of the others. In particular I think screenshot 4 looks the worst.
I'd just like to state again how much I dislike the TIE Crawler's inclusion. It doesn't fit.
Victory-Class Stardestroyers are "left-overs" from the late Clone Wars era if I remember correctly, and those have been around in Star Wars since, well atleast since TIE Fighter in -94 was it? But I think it's older than that.
The Victory-Class idea is much older than most people think though. It can trace it's origin from the planing of A New Hope back in the -70's. It was originally going to be the second ship we would see flying over the camera in the opening scene. :)
So it's not entirelly EU craft. :D

Yes indeed. It's what I like to call could-have-been-Canon :)
Yes something Even I did not know of I'm impressed.
though by that line Vostok quite a lot of things Could have been canon like the Juggernaut and TIE Defender.
 sweet! I hope they have like cinematics and other stuff.
The TIE Defender is almsot cannon? I thought it was designed for TIE Fighter (the game).
since this thread is about screenshots for the upcoming game, i found a couple of different screenshots posted @ gamespot (
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/starwarsrts/screenindex.html). :D
sry, but those (
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/starwarsrts/screens.html?page=21) rifles, much less the stormtroopers, don't exactly look the most accurate. granted, it is a pre-alpha screenshot, so......

Lol. By that you mean it's blocky, texture-less and plain ugly :D
I hope it's pre-alpha.
looks like rifles were the last thing needed doing the rest is perfect sych detail on AT AT's and the stormies minus of course that excuse for a rifle:p
I STILL make occassional maps for SWGB an CC, and in comparison, this is AWESOME!!! There's even a z axis on the camera! It's about time that the star wars community recieved a good-looking rts.
^^^^
actually, it looks like its going to be one of the best looking rts games of all time. :D
unfortunately, that kind of detail is really going to bog some systems down, unless the lower graphics settings will take out some of that gorgeous detail.
This could easily be one of the best RTS ever made.
and then we get an RTS that has none of these effects in and generally looks crap:p

Don't forget the number of units that will be handeled in the game at one time. With hundreds, if not thousands of things to keep track of, they need to keep the poly count down.
Still, a simple texture of the gun would help...
God bless,
X-Wing Pilot 5
The game is pre-alpha. so textures for a lot of things wont be done yet. Lets not slap the game in the face yet about the small items like gun textures!
