A couple of weeks ago Jedi Academy started to play up, i've had this problem before but i cant remember how i resolved it. Basically the fps drops when a lightsaber comes into contact with an object. I think this is due to my recent installing of direct x 9.0c, but i think it might be linked to the sound driver in some way.

Can anyone confirm this or had or this problem before

It might be the saber damage decals. Have you tried turning them off?

how do u turn the saber damage decals off?

i've switched everything off in options unless it somewhere else
