Increased lag since 1.11?

I've noticed my PING (and lag) have gone waay up since the 1.11 patches. I used to be able to start up, join a server with 150 ping or less, and play with little lag. Now, I go to the menu, the lowest pings I'm getting (on non-empty servers) are 300-ish, and all the everything lags so bad I can barely move, let alone fight. Is this something wrong with my connection, or did something get changed in 1.1/1.11?
